Great spot but go early. On the Saturday we visited, it turned into more of a club vibe as the evening went on.

Only bar open late in Carmel where the younger generation hangs out. Highlights: - Open spot for a drink past 10pm - Fun music Midlights: - Just bullet ginger $18 Lowlights - Have $25 cover and a rope for a line like it's a Vegas club - Packed later at night

The way entry is handled at Barmel is weird. Some people walked right in while others were charged with no explanation. When we asked, staff got defensive instead of clarifying. Just felt disorganized and off.

Really unprofessional experience at Barmel. Staff at the door were rude and we could overhear them talking about customers right in front of everyone. On top of that, cover charges were inconsistent with no explanation. It just felt uncomfortable and not welcoming at all

A lovely old-fashioned bar with 60s music, lots of wood and leather, and great IPA. Unfortunately, it's all in cans.

Came for the happy hour. Ended up staying for dinner. Great holiday drinks! Owner is awesome. Family owned and operated. Love this local spot!

Came here with a friend who recommended it. So glad I came. Good drinks, tasty food and friendly service. The atmosphere was relaxing. I'll be coming back for sure.

All the locals had been recommending BarMel as the spot to go after dinner and we finally decided to check it out. It was a little tricky to find at first, but once we walked in the atmosphere immediately pulled us in. We asked to be seated at a cozy booth which gave us a great view of the room. A DJ was playing when we arrived and it looked like there had been live music earlier in the evening which added to the lively and creative vibe of the space. We had been cold all day from walking around the city, so warm drinks sounded perfect. I ordered a nonalcoholic option and it tasted amazing with the perfect balance of flavor and comfort. The staff was friendly and made the entire visit feel relaxed and welcoming. We did not stay too long, but we were happy we finally experienced this place that everyone talks about. It is definitely worth a stop if you are looking for a late night drink and a fun atmosphere.
