Fountaingrove Lodge (LGBTQ+ retirement community)

Fountaingrove Lodge, in the Fountaingrove hills of north Santa Rosa, opened in late 2013 as the first state-licensed continuing care retirement community in the US built for LGBTQ+ seniors and their allies. It's now run by Oakmont Senior Living. It offers independent living apartments and bungalows plus a memory care unit, with a pool, fitness room, wine bar and dining rooms. It's a residence, not somewhere to drop in, but it's a real part of the city's LGBTQ+ history and worth knowing about if you're planning a move. Tours are by appointment on 707-285-9533.
