Duchess Lounge

Had a good first experience but a bartender on Saturday made me feel very unwelcome despite the bar being empty. Maybe it's because we were men.

the service is honestly questionable. staff are supposed to make you feel welcome, however the staff here are really aggressive, make a lot of unnecessary accusations, and are overall extremely unwelcoming. the place is really nice however the customer service is really unacceptable:(

Lovely little place in obs. Attended for a show and it was absolutely amazing! Great intimate little venue

Was fun, entertainment. Everyone was having a blast.

Incredible service - thank you Lady D The Sweet Chick pizza was divine (thank you chef) and the drinks wonderful Definitely a new favourite Cape Town gem

Joined friends for a quiz night which was great fun. The questions were interesting, and diverse. Included a great drag show. The food and cocktails were also delicious! Atmosphere was great. Will definitely go back!

There's at least one other review saying the vibes were off to non-white patrons at this bar, and I'm sorry but I gotta say I felt it too. Didn't feel welcoming at all :/ Been enough times to know that I probably won't be going back.

The bar staff are friendly and welcoming

Left my beer at the bar when I got called up for karaoke, this guy (the manager) took it and said I was lying when I saw him taking it. Started swearing at me and probably did this because I wasn’t white. Rude. Unpleasant service. Racist. Would not recommend. Did not get my beer back; he just swore me and walked away. DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR.
