The Netherlands has long been a beacon for LGBTQ+ rights, and The Hague reflects this legacy as the nation's political and legal capital. Scheveningen offers beachfront stays for a more resort-like base. The Hague is only about 50 minutes by train from Amsterdam and 20 from Rotterdam, so some travellers day-trip from either.
The Hague is flat, compact and famously bike-friendly, with rental services widely available. Trams and buses reach every district (single fares around €2–3, day passes available), and Den Haag Centraal and Hollands Spoor connect fast to Amsterdam (50 min), Rotterdam (20 min) and beyond.
