AC Hotel Murcia by Marriott

Friendly and efficient staff. Modern hotel located on a boulevard, about 1.5km from the city center. There is a tram stop 100 meters from the hotel that goes to Plaza Circular, on the edge of the City Center. Suggest you buy the ten ride rechargeable card, which is also good on city buses. Tap the card when entering the tram. It's an honor system but controls are frequent. The hotel has an excellent buffet breakfast. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped with a few minor problems. The bathroom fan is loud. The TV is small and has no English language channels. There are insufficient electrical plugs.

Some of the staff are what make the hotel! Otherwise would not have booked - also my Partner is a Marriott Platinum Card Holder. The guy who looks after the bar - excellent! Girl with long hair on Reception also and the lady at breakfast also good too. A building must have been erected to stop the pool from getting sun until 4pm when the pool opens and the Lifeguard arrives! It feels as though it is being run on a shoestring budget. Location is fine. I’d love to talk with the GM…..

The truth is that we had no expectations with this hotel because we passed through Murcia and stayed there by chance, and it was quite a success, it is a super complete and quality hotel for the price it has. In short, great value for money, the buffet was great and super complete, the rooms very good too, the beds super comfortable, we would repeat without a doubt

AC Murcia was lovely surprise! Hotel is slightly dated in decor, few minor flaws here and there. There is a strong sewage smell lingering in the hallways ( plumping issue ? ) but we get used to it rather quickly. I would suggest to use ambientador in the hallways to hide the smell ... Five star rating goes to absolutely lovely staff. They were so hospitable and amable, always asking if we need something etc. Especially the ladies in the bar/ AC lounge were fantastic. Mamen and her collegue ( Lady with red glasses ) were absolutely amazing and took such a good care of us. Mamen makes the best G&T's !

The hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly. However, there is a pungent smell throughout the hotel which was hard to ignore. An odor similar to that of a paper-mill odor. And since there was no AC due to seasonality, the problem got worse.

Good location about a mile outside the city centre. Parking at the Hotel. EV Chargers out front. Big Carrefoure next door. Tram stop outside, 3 stops to entrance to the City Centre pedestrian zone. Clean, comfortable good sized room. Friendly and helpful check in. Big hot shower. Didn't eat in the hotel.

Comfortable room and excellent cleanliness. Attentive and friendly staff at all times. Breakfast with a variety of foods covering all our needs. Location with great ease for access to the city center. Highly recommended stay

The beds are comfortable, but you can not have privacy in the bathroom (you hear everything). Worst of all, however, was the racist behaviour of the hotel staff. I don't know how you can present yourself as a 4-star hotel and treat people this way. It's a disgrace.

A lack lustre welcome on a Sunday evening is memorable for the wrong reasons. The receptionist wanted us to change from a twin to a queen sized room, can only guess because it suits the hotel,ie smaller bed / less bedding. Umm no we're going to stay with what we booked, unless you want to upgrade it, that's a no from her! So that's the start...we asked are you busy tonight, the answer was vague! No information was provided then for the local area or the hotel. Anyway we got in the lift and went to the room allocated. It's a soul less hotel with no holiday vibes whatsoever,a complete contrast to previous nights spent just up the coast. The room where it was clean was dated without any USB chargers and very few sockets was dark. Lighting was poor and insufficient. TV had at best one English speaking news channel,no entertainment channels. We managed to sleep for a few hours only because the AC didn't work,it was stressful because we had to open the window and suffer traffic noise. In the morning the foul stench outside forced us to close the window and the room was unbelievably stuffy. I wouldn't recommend this hotel because of the management failure. They couldn't care less. There isn't anything that resembles a 4 star hotel,its a basic budget hotel at best, not even as good as a PI ! Disappointing and dreadful for a Marriott, its not up to standard. They should send their staff up to the neighbouring Marriott to learn how to speak to guests and improve their practices.

Stayed here early October. Greeted at check in by Luis who gave us information about the areas to visit in Murcia. Greatly appreciated the upgrade being a Marriott platinum member. Hotel is about a 35 minute walk to the old town so took the tram which was 1.40 euros and stops outside the hotel. Came by car and big plus is secure underground parking. If we return to Murcia then would certainly come back to this hotel.
