My friends and I stayed 4 nights at the Plymouth Travelodge. We chose it because it was the cheapest and we didn’t have high expectations. What a surprise we got! This hotel punches well above its weight! It was better than many much more expensive hotels. It was very clean & felt safe (you can double lock your door); the beds were really comfortable and the showers worked; the decor was simple but attractive; it’s very central, just a short walk away from the Barbican or the Hoe; and the staff were extremely pleasant & helpful. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough & will definitely be going back!

Great little place to stop overnight before my cycle tip across Devon. Decent pub just across the road too. Staff were really friendly and helpful - thanks Terri.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Terry & Hugo — Two People Who Somehow Make the Place Feel Lighter After staying at Travelodge Plymouth Central for a while, you start to notice something that probably doesn’t come across in photos, booking pages or room descriptions. You start to notice the people. And Terry and Hugo are two of the people who quietly make the whole place feel better. They are both extremely friendly, supportive and understanding, but what I like most about them is that none of it feels performed. There is no sense that they are putting on a customer-service voice because somebody has walked up to the desk. They just seem genuinely pleased to see people. That sounds like a small thing, but when you are staying somewhere for more than a night or two, it really isn’t. They nearly always have smiles on their faces, and not the stiff, polite kind either. They come across as naturally cheerful people, the sort who somehow make an interaction feel easy even if you only needed to ask a quick question. There is a very relaxed kindness about both of them. You never get the feeling that you are interrupting them, bothering them, or asking too much. They listen properly, they are patient, they are supportive, and they have this way of making even an ordinary conversation at reception feel genuinely pleasant. That is actually quite rare. Anyone can be polite. Anyone can say the right words. But there is a difference between being professionally friendly and being a genuinely warm human being, and with Terry and Hugo you can feel that difference almost immediately. They seem like two people who are simply happy to help. And that kind of energy spreads. You can come back tired, distracted, or having had a long day, and a quick interaction with them somehow leaves you feeling a little lighter than you did before. That is not something you can train into somebody with a handbook. It comes from character. It comes from patience. It comes from being naturally good with people. And both Terry and Hugo have that in abundance. What I appreciate most is that their kindness feels consistent. It is not one good interaction or one particularly cheerful shift. It is the feeling that whenever you see them, you know exactly what kind of welcome you are going to get. Friendly. Calm. Understanding. Genuine. And usually accompanied by a smile. That matters more than people sometimes realise. Hotels are full of practical things people remember — the room, the bed, the location, the check-in — but the people who stay in your mind are usually the ones who made you feel comfortable without even trying too hard. Terry and Hugo are those people. So this review is really just to make sure that their effort, their attitude and the way they treat people do not go unnoticed. They are both a genuine credit to Travelodge Plymouth Central. And more importantly, they are the kind of people who make you glad to see them when you walk through the door. That says a lot. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I've stayed here several times and have always had a comfortable stay and experienced no noise inside my room. I always choose my room away from the nightclub side and away from Derry's Cross roundabout, which seems to be blighted by riders of small capacity bikes with Moto3 style loud exhausts. If you are at the back of the hotel away from it all once the windows are shut it's quiet. It is a convenient location right in the city centre about a 15 minute walk from the railway station, and if you're with a dog The Hoe is a short walk away. I always stay here when in the area, it's my go-to hotel.

Amazing stay, came here to stay for my 30th birthday and the staff were 10/10. Ian especially helpful, willing to help sort out an issue. Suzanne very cheerful and easy to speak to. Two wonderful members of staff who made my stay even better.

Brilliant hospitality by Terri, Hugo and the team at Plymouth Travelodge. Would recommend this incredibly convenient spot so close to the city’s historical attractions. T&H were very attentive at listening and recommending best spots.

The hotel was clean and modern. The elevators were quiet and moved swiftly between floors. Parking was a little expensive at around £15 for 24 hours. We opened a window to let some fresh air in but closed it after 10 minutes because of the traffic noise. Its a shame that no food is served here, meaning that we had to find elsewhere. The local weather spoons was very reasonable at around £15 for 2x full english and unlimited coffee or teas. All of the staff that we saw were friendly and seemed genuinly happy to be there.

We had a very pleasant overnight stay. The hotel is in a good location for our purpose and our room was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfy, and fresh, clean towels were provided for all of us. There was a little noise from the music in the club downstairs, but it didn’t take away too much from our overall stay. A special thank you to Abhi and Suzanne at reception, who were both very welcoming, friendly and helpful. They made the check-in process easy, gave us clear directions to our room, and were more than happy to provide us with extra coffee and milk when we asked. We really appreciated their warm and helpful service and would be happy to stay here again.
