an absolutely amazing, cute, and quaint little hotel in the heart of truro; the receptionist (apologies for not getting your name!) was so friendly to my partner and i upon arrival and greeted us with such care! we had breakfast which was freshly made with the most delicious and warm croissants, the sweetest milk i’ve ever had (cornish milk is like a dessert!), and fresh strawberries - we also got offered tea or coffee and the coffee (french press) was perfect, it made me smile all through breakfast! unfortunately, we ate everything before i remembered to take a photo, but i think that in itself speaks for how superb everything was. the overall interior was clean and incredibly spacious, our room was big enough for more than just us for sure! but the real highlight was after we had checked out, my husband realised he forgot a necklace of which holds a lot of significance to him, as soon as we had gone back to the hotel we were greeted by the same friendly man who was immediately able to hand it to us and even told he was trying to call us to make sure we came back on time to collect it before our train; it really made our day even sweeter due to how quickly everything was sorted after an even better stay. thank you so much for making our stay in truro fascinating!
Old building with charm. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Some rooms are difficult to access. Breakfast and dinner are absolutely excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Great little hotel! Staff were lovely and really helpful, communal areas have been recently refurbished and looked great, bedroom was a good size, and there was a good breakfast. The bathroom could do with a bit of an update but more importantly the water pressure was good. Didn't walk into the town centre but it's only a few minutes walk away.
Clean , modern and spacious rooms. All staff friendly. Minor grumble limited evening menu but what was offered was very good.
Had a lovely stay at Hotel Vara! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it a relaxing place to unwind. The ambience of the hotel was calm and pleasant, perfect for a short getaway. The staff were very friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything needed. Their hospitality really made the stay even more enjoyable. Overall, a great experience and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay!
