The lady for reservations is very rude and doesn’t answer properly.

If you’re looking for good cold beer at a fair price, this is the right place to be. If you’re lucky enough to be there when the magician is performing, you will love it.

After having written a review a fairly long time ago and an update five months ago, I have to write more, so this is brief amalgamation. First, this is strictly about the pub on karaoke nights, and I know nothing about the rooms. I love Julie and Chynna. They are two of my favourite servers ever. It is not easy for me get out there often, but they sure make me want to try. Even when I return after several months, they call me by my name and treat me like I am there all the time. It is notable "please come back" service. I am very aware of the pub's "reputation"; however, the reasons why some people that I know, including close friends, do not love this place translate into why I love this place. It is very casual in there, and by "casual," I do not mean "business-casual." This is not a place for formalities. This is a place for fun and for people who can be themselves--or tribute artists, like the "Elvis" guy who pops in to do karaoke sometimes and even does his own shows there (in fact, at the time of this writing, he has a show coming up there this month). And here is the catalyst for the need of another update: three visits ago, a friend offered me a slice of ham and pineapple pizza; two visits ago, because of my positive previous experience, I had to order and share my own ham and pineapple pizza; last night, I did it again, and not only was the pizza unbelievably even better than the first two (which is already quite a feat), but the pizza was also one of the greatest pizzas that I have ever eaten in a life that is in its second half of a century!

Room was as shown on the website, a cozy bed in a simple room. One pillow slightly stained and blanket was questionable… but overall a local stay with character you won’t get anywhere else! We were graciously welcomed by the pub’s bartender Laura, who did everything in her power to ensure a nice stay (there was a slight issue with a $200 credit card cleaning deposit not being mentioned in the booking details), she was very kind and accommodating to check is in while she was also busy serving the whole pub! The lack of 5 full stars is due to the state of the rooms, which we were told is a liquor store staff’s responsibility, as the pub’s staff is only the check-in/check-out. We didn’t have a full set of towels as the previous guests’ were still dirty/damp in the closet, so we had to request more; as well as the low water pressure causing a clog in the toilet on night one. The real issue is when we asked for help with this issue, Julie the next day’s bartender, assured us she’d let the liquor store staff know, and as we left we did see someone going to service our room. But upon arrival almost 10 hours later, we returned to new towels but no help otherwise. Toilet was still clogged and dirty towers were still present. Julie was an absolute gem, and by the grace of God, she found a plunger we could use at about 12am right before locking up! Also shoutout to the liquor store employee working night of dec.16, he helped us find the correct stairway for the late night re-entry! Very thankful for the wonderful and attentive staff but just majorly lacking in room upkeep!

Was stuck for a place to stay, so bit the bullet and paid way too much for the worst room I in which I have ever stayed in Canada. The whole place was unclean. The bathroom shower was full of long black hairs from a previous occupant. The furniture was beat up and rickety. Never again.

Beer was ice cold and a reasonable price food specials were ok for the price. Staff were friendly
