Great stay, awesome customer service.

My review is from someone who didn’t stay there as the front desk person was so off putting and negative I left and found another hotel. It was as if she didn’t want me to stay there and made it adversarial to book a room for the night. I’m not really sure why there was an instant negative attitude when I walked in. I’m easy going and have never had such an experience. So much for souther hospitality at this hotel!

Good place to stay.

Most things are broken. The drain didn’t work in the room I was first assigned. When I told the front desk and was switched, the ceiling fan didn’t work in the second. The hotel is not being maintained, pick another one.

Rude and hanged up

Stayed for two nights and would never ever stay there again. When we checked in, we were NOT informed by the front desk that we had to opt in for cleaning service. On the second day when we returned to our room after sightseeing, nothing was done. The beds were not made, dirty towels were on the bathroom floor, sink was not cleaned, etc. When I spoke to the front desk I was told that housecleaning had left for the day and nothing could be done. Therefore, we had to sleep in a dirty room. The pillows were very small and extremely lumpy. It's ridiculous that the hotel has never replaced the pillows. The shower stall is very small. If you are a large person, it will be very uncomfortable. Our room was on the 4th floor and the ice machine on our floor and the 3rd floor was not working. Had to go to the second floor for ice. I have tried several times to speak with the manger about getting a refund for the second night. Every time I call the hotel, I am informed that the manger is not on duty. I left several messages and the manager will not call me back. I lodged a complaint with the parent company Choice Hotels and all I got back was an email expressing how sorry they are about my stay. Still NO refund for the one night. PLEASE do not stay at this hotel.

Excellent value for money! The rooms are spacious and comfortable. It's quiet. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is plentiful and varied. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The only downside is the slightly dated decor, which could use a refresh. Nevertheless, I was very happy with my stay and I recommend this hotel.

Hotel is dated not clean and the smell is terrible. No refrigerator didn't clean the room no ice machines. My door looked like if someone leaned on it would open. The back entrance wouldn't close anyone could walk into the hotel.

I was mostly disappointed with the bathroom in our room. It looked like they put it in a closet, it was that small (toilet and shower). The toilet seat had scratches on it and other things looked a little destroyed. The sink was outside of the closet. Breakfast was fine, but the hotel seemed insufficient with employees. Great location for visiting beaches and downtown Charleston.

Stayed there from 4/18/26 - 4/19/26. Noticed on 4/19/26 they charged my card twice for the one night stay. I called and spoke with Jolene at the front desk and she stated she couldn't help me and sent me into some automated reservation system that was useless. I called Jolene back and asked to speak with a manager and she kept stating the same robotic statement over and over again I know how frustrated you are ... I can't see billing on my end or past reservations... can I transfer you to the reservation system... I asked for an onsite manager and she said nothing I asked if there was a manager onsite and she just said nothing. They charge me twice onsite and yet can't assist me and refuse to answer if there is an onsite manager. Onsite breakfast ends at 9:30AM. At 9:32AM I went up to the juice machine to get a glass of OJ and one of the workers opened the machine in front off me and took the juice out of it - very purposefully- no acknowledgment that I was standing right there about to get a glass. What happened to southern hospitality?

If you're looking for a hotel to stay, I'd highly advise you not to stay here. We booked from 04/17/2026 - 04/20/2026 and were on the third floor when we walked into our room and it was filthy, filled with a moist moldy smell, there were spiders crawling on the pillows in the far corner of the bed that end3d up not getting slept on that we discoverd later that first night. Under all the covers, the beds themselves had orange stains, our lamp was infested with some sort of mold or fungus, the fan blades were bent down due to all the moisture, and the wooden entertainment center had looked like something was eating at it. After waking up we both felt Nauseous and the air felt very thick. I also went to get some breakfast and the sausage was hard, and everything tasted off and left a bad aftertaste. We saw 2 rooms getting cleaned on the same floor, opposite side so we peaked into one and there were no smells, everything was clean and it was vibrant. We went down to the front desk to request a room change and they said they were completely full, yet when I bought up the 2 units we had seen they said they weren't aware of them and instinctively said they weren't available since they needed to get "checked" and brought to their attention. We were told to come back later and ask. (Why would they not contact me if they have my phone number AND email?) That was early in the morning on the 18th. Later that day around 5pm after we got back from venturing we had went down and asked, but this time there was a Lady with a bit of an attitude. We had told her what the other representative had told us and she said that she saw nothing available on the 3rd floor for the units we were talking about. Instead she told us only one unit on the first floor same column and when we had walked in it it stenched worse, much darker, and just as dirty. We decided to leave and make our trip back home, cancling the booking and now waiting for my refund. My thing is, sure... it's and older hotel and it's gonna have its flaws. But It can still be old AND clean. And the fact they didn't want to give us the clearly open and ready clean room, with even a better air-conditioner that was sealed, is wild to me. It was very disappointing to have to drive all the way out there, cut the trip down an entire 2 nights and just to leave 1 day after getting there and driving all the way back because of the hotel sitting at horribly low standards. All in all, never staying at a Sleep Inn again

Room was small. Ceiling fan lacked control. Temperature control was poor. Room was not cleaned during our Friday night to Sunday morning stay.
