Sapphic Book Crush: ’90s Night at Book Club Bar in Bushwick

November 9 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm EST
$30

Ever spotted someone cute across a bookstore and had absolutely no idea what to say? Ever gone to a queer singles night only to spend the evening talking to the two people you already came with? And ever tried speed dating, met twenty people, and felt like you got to know none of them?

Join queer women and nonbinary readers for a book-lined night of drinks, flirtation, and short one-on-one conversations at Book Club Bar Bushwick. Every round we suggest one fun and easy topic to start off with and we pair you with one person to have a short and fun conversation with.

Come have fun and flirt

We’ll be playing everything we loved from the 90s. Share your favorite YA novels, your thoughts about Britney, and how many gel pens a person can reasonably have.

How this works

Before the event, you fill out a 90-second profile: the profile helps us pair you and it gives the people you meet a fun and easy starting point. This event is intended for sapphics in their 20s thru 40s. You can also set your age range in the app.

Optionally, you can actually let us know who you want to meet before the event and we’ll introduce you two, guaranteed if it’s mutual. You’ll always have 6 introductions either way. Best of all, you’ll have plenty of time after the rounds to continue the conversation and keep mingling.

At the end, trade numbers or privately tell us whom you’d like to see again. At the end, trade numbers or privately tell us whom you’d like to see again.

How the night goes (this event is fully hosted)

7:50 — Grab a drink, check in with one tap, and your evening unlocks. Say hi to the event host and mingle.

8:10 — Round one. Your phone shows exactly who you’re meeting and where — you’ll never wonder who to meet next.

8:10–9:10 — More introductions, about six minutes each, with browsing and mingling between rounds.

9:15 — Last round. By now the room is loud.

10:00 — Send likes on Asaya, or just trade numbers. Chats from tonight are free to open for 7 days.

You’ll always know who to meet next. The rest feels like a party.
