Great little hotel good parking parking also Ev friendly

Terrific hotel. Perfect for an interstate overnighter. Airport-rail-hotel. So simple. Rooms are modern, clean and innovative. Food all around, Central Station is a 5 minute walk. Such a great location.

I have stayed at this hotel several times before and usually had a very good experience. The daytime staff were friendly and helpful, and we were even allowed to check in early at around 1:00pm, which we really appreciated. However, during this stay we experienced a problem with our original room (Room 502). When we returned to the hotel at around 6:00pm, the room was still very warm. The air conditioner was extremely weak and also making noticeable noise, even when set to 17°C. A staff member came to the room and simply turned the air conditioner off and on again, explaining that the room sometimes takes time to cool down. However, after waiting about 20 minutes there was still no improvement. At around 6:30pm, when I reported the issue again at the front desk, the response I received was quite disappointing. I was told that the other available rooms would likely be the same and that if it was not acceptable, I could cancel the booking and find another hotel. This made it feel as if the problem was being treated as a guest preference rather than an issue with the room itself. Eventually we were moved to another room (Room 102). When we entered the new room, the air conditioning was already running and the room was noticeably cooler immediately. The difference compared to Room 502 was very obvious. Overall, most of the staff were friendly, especially the daytime staff and the person making coffee in the morning. However, I hope the hotel can improve how such situations are handled in the evening. I have stayed here multiple times before and always had a good experience, which is why this situation was particularly disappointing.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at 202 Elizabeth and I can’t rate it highly enough. If you’re into big, busy hotels this is not the place for you - it is small, boutique, friendly and intimate (not to mention gorgeous), brilliantly located and serviced by some of the kindest staff I’ve met. It feels like home and checking in here is an exhale. The breakfast is excellent (included if you book direct!), the coffee is superb, there’s an organic bottle-shop downstairs and a lovely rooftop area to sit and relax. The staff are accommodating, helpful and generous and I can’t thank Dylan, Thomas, Serge and Jenny enough for looking after me during my two stays here. I will be coming back here every time I stay :)

This was a disaster experience! We have been here for 2 nights and everyday is a problem here. First day: An opened water bottle in the room, and the water leaked over bathroom floor after a shower. They said they would look at it the day after. Second day: We came home and of course they have not done anything about the issues and not even the basic housekeeping was completed. Random towel on the floor, they threw my pyjamas on the luggage. Hair in the bathroom. Used cups/glasses not changed. No more toilet paper or napkins supplied. We once more complained at the reception and they promised to fix all these Next day: Surprise. We came home at 2pm and the room was not even touched.. This whole thing is just a joke, wouldn’t even call this a 3-star standard.

The hotel in itself is alright and the room doesn’t look bad at all but we’ve had severe service problems that feels nowhere near 5-star. After coming back home from the first day out our bed had been made and that was about it. Our pyjamas clothes had been put on the dirty outside of the luggage bag/floor. No refill on the water bottle in the room. No new napkins. We had a leak problem in the shower that didn’t get looked at. Hair was still on the shower floor. Used coffee cup was still on the table. To compensate they said they will absolutely make sure that next day it will be cleaned properly before 1pm. Next day we arrive to the room at 2pm and the room has not been touched. It’s been non-existant room service, and unfortunately feels very disappointing for a supposed ”5 star” hotel. And so far no compensation for it.

I asked for a quiet room, not facing the street. Ok, I got a room not facing the street, but with 10 AC fans outside my window. I barely slept and checked out the next morning, even if I booked for 3 nights. Stuff was very friendly and excepted my earlier check out. The noise is not their fault, but I wouldn’t book this hotel again. And I really disliked the fact that there was no closet in my room for storing my cloths.

The check-in time is later compared to other most nearby hotels. The lobby is on the smaller side, and entry requires staff assistance, so you may need to wait briefly instead of walking straight in.

Great coffee (arguably the best coffee I’ve had in a long time) in the lobby and the rooftop is very cute. Rooms are decorated well and location is convenient, right across central station. Staff is friendly. Hotel is more of a 4 star hotel not 5. The standard rooms are nice but quite small and not very many things you’d expect out of a 5 star for example, no slippers, no robe, no closet space, amenities etc. There also isn’t any designated place you can park to check in or drop off your bags and it’s right on a busy main road. Parking is 5 min down the road in a public garage and is about $50 per day. Overall good value, nicely decorated, walkable location, and great coffee.

202 Elizabeth is by far one of Sydney's Finest Hotels, a truly Boutique Hotel with staff that genuinely make you feel like you are family, not just a guest. The heritage building has been recently renovated whilst keeping the trendy vibe of the heritage features and charm. The Entrance is on the smaller size but once in the door you understand the Bespoke Luxury with "A Grade Security" and Privacy that creates an "Ambiance of Relaxation". Every morning you are greeted by a wholesome Continental Breakfast and freshly brewed Barista Coffee. Furthermore they have established relationships with local Surry Hills Restaurants, Bars and Clubs. The Hotel is extremely Dog Friendly, something that is important for us. My Dog "Rasmus" was made to always feel welcome. The building has great Air-conditioning (So Important if you are not from a Warm Climate) and has amazing Sound Proofing. A lovely private Interior Courtyard Garden and Rooftop "Mini" Resort to Relax and Experience Sydney. This Hotel is in our top 1% of properties in Australia, a truly Boutique and Bespoke Luxury Hotel that genuinely deserves its 5 Star Status.
