We had a very pleasant stay at the Capital Hotel in Thimphu. The hotel is modern, new, and beautifully designed with great attention to detail. The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The rooms are spacious, stylish, and well equipped, with a particularly impressive bathroom. The location is very convenient for exploring Thimphu, making it a great base for a visit. The breakfast buffet was delicious and offered a good variety of options. Overall, a highly recommended hotel for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The hotel offers very good value for money.

I was really struggling to decided between a spa hotel that would be outside the main city and the Capital (their spa is not open as of April 2026), which is more like a business hotel and walkable to the main shopping roads, and although I will never know, I was pleased with this new hotel. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable and the common areas are thoughtfully and elegantly decorated. The best part was the food and helpful staff at the restaurant. Ask for the local ezay! The location was a few blocks (5-minute walk) from the Main Street. Also we found an amazing massage place nearby called Menjor - not fancy but good massages. I didn’t have any noise issues. The main drawback is there is no spa and the WiFi was pretty bad, which is why I took off a star.

Spend 2 nights in February 2026. There are only positives. It’s spotless clean, rooms and facilities are modern and well appointed, bed and bedding are very comfortable, good selection of international TV channels, nice bathroom. The food in the restaurant is delicious. The portions for the set dinner I had were huge and impossible to finish. There is free wifi and it is stable with good speed. Insulation is good too, it is quiet inside and heat does not escape. It does get cold at night outside and I heard not very hotel is like this one. Facilities include a gym, steam and sauna and business centre. Location is good, all shops, post office and handicraft market in walking distance.

Review: A lovely hotel with great food! The Masala Tea was exceptional. A special shout-out to the staff—the girls were awesome and provided top-notch service throughout my stay. I also found the informative booklets about Bhutan near the restaurant a joy to read—it was a great way to learn more about the country while relaxing. Heads up: The rooms are not soundproof (bring earplugs if you are sensitive to noise), and the spa was under renovation while I was there. Overall, a good experience!
