The Ritz-Carlton, Almaty

Having stayed at hundreds of hotels around the world, I can honestly say this experience was on another level. The level of personalization was exceptional. The management has created a culture where everyone seems to know your name, making every interaction feel genuine and welcoming. The food was outstanding, both at breakfast and through in room dining, and the spa was fantastic. Overall, it felt like a seven star experience, and I highly recommend it. During my stay, the city experienced a widespread power outage, which affected some services such as the kitchen late at night and the air conditioning operating in a reduced mode. Even so, the team handled the situation professionally and did everything they could to make sure guests remained comfortable.

Our stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Almaty was exceptional, and a big part of that was thanks to Yekaterina from the Front Office. She went above and beyond to make our stay truly special. Her professionalism, warm hospitality, attention to detail, and willingness to help with every request made us feel genuinely valued. It’s clear how hard she works, and her dedication made a lasting impression on us. A special thank you as well to Chef Swapnil for the amazing food. Every meal was beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and added so much to our overall experience. Thank you both for making our visit so memorable. We can’t wait to return!

What a great hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was large and comfortable. They had a good gym (I didn't use the pool). Breakfast had great options and really good quality food. The hotel is connected to the mall, so its easy for shopping etc.

Excellent hotel. The heated pool is awesome. Location is very good. The rooms don’t have much sound proofing that was the only problem.

I have stayed at many Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels around the world, so I know what standards this brand is capable of delivering. Unfortunately, The Ritz-Carlton Almaty was a major disappointment. We were woken up by the Front Desk in the middle of the night and treated as if we were responsible for a disturbance caused by other guests. A promised follow-up never happened. The sauna was not functioning properly, parts of the wellness area appeared poorly maintained, and, most seriously, my partner was threatened by another guest. The hotel's security response was completely inadequate, and he was not even given a fair opportunity to explain what had happened in English. After submitting a detailed formal complaint, the hotel refused any compensation and its response contained factual inaccuracies. This was far below the level of service, professionalism, and guest care I expect from a Ritz-Carlton.
