Hyatt Regency Kuantan Resort

This is a place my family and I go on a trip to every summer. We always travel by our own car, but it might be inconvenient for those who use public transportation. The best part is having a delicious breakfast while looking at the ocean, plumeria flowers blooming by the poolside, and at night, sipping cocktails in the gentle breeze while listening to the sound of the waves.

This is my first and last stay at here.. Very disappointing service. They don't seem to value their guests' time. I arrived at 4:00 PM, but the hotel was fully booked. Since my room was no longer available, they decided to upgrade me instead. While I appreciate the upgrade, I still had to wait from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM before I could check in. and Room is as expected but maintenance of facilities is poor.

The hotel is a bit dated, room showing its age and the pools were all overcrowded.

Great resort for a quick getaway with the family from the busy city of KL. The staff were friendly. The rooms are clean. Check in and check out process was quick. Pools were clean. Pool bar was a plus. Our bartender, Ram, was amazing and friendly. Both my kids had a great time here.

Hyatt Regency Kuantan is still one of my favourite beach resorts on the East Coast. I've been staying here since 1998, and honestly, I've lost count of how many times I've visited over the years. That alone says how much I enjoy this place. My favourite room has always been 130X. The view is simply spectacular, and waking up to the sea never gets old. That said, I do have a couple of suggestions. First, I hope the hotel can retain more of its staff instead of having frequent changes. During one of my recent stays, many of the staff were from Indonesia. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but as a regular guest, you tend to build a connection with long-serving staff who understand your preferences without you having to explain everything again. Secondly, I'd like to mention the breakfast service. The food is good, but a smile goes a long way. The waitresses, and especially the head chef who walks around checking the buffet, could be a little more approachable and welcoming. Hospitality isn't just about serving good food—it's also about making guests feel genuinely welcome. A simple smile can make all the difference. Despite these comments, Hyatt Regency Kuantan remains one of my favourite resorts, and I'll definitely continue coming back. It feels like a second home after all these years. 🌊❤️

Has Potential, But Needs Improvement Stayed here recently and left feeling quite underwhelmed, especially considering the price point and the Hyatt brand. The property feels rather dated overall, and the rooms are in need of refurbishment. I was also surprised that the TVs were not smart TVs, which seems like a basic amenity at this price level. Small details like these can make a big difference when guests are paying premium resort rates. The staff were polite, friendly, and hardworking, and the beachfront location is undoubtedly a highlight. However, the resort currently feels as though it is relying more on its brand reputation and location than on delivering a premium guest experience. With some much-needed renovations, updated in-room amenities, and better crowd management, this property has the potential to live up to the Hyatt name. In its current state, however, I don't feel it offers the value one would expect for the price.

I would avoid this 5 stars property in the future, poor check in and check out process, poor breakfast queue management during weekend, small car porch, too small for a mega beachside hotel like this....Paying 5 stars price, feel like 3 stars experience.
