City Guesthouse & Tours
Visitors frequently praise the guesthouse's excellent central location, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and attractions. Many also highlight the helpfulness and English fluency of the staff, and the quality and affordability of the tours they arrange. A common point of concern is that multiple rooms share a single bathroom and toilet, though some guests reported no issues with queues.

The guesthouse is about an hour from the airport by bus, although Ulaanbaatar's notoriously heavy traffic meant our journey took closer to two hours. We arrived late at night, and the exterior lighting around the building was very poor, so have your phone torch ready if you're arriving after dark. The guesthouse occupies the third floor of a very old building, and the condition of the staircase may make you question your accommodation choice on arrival. Our room was a good size, but unfortunately the mattress was not particularly comfortable. The shared bathrooms could also have been cleaned more thoroughly. Breakfast was very basic and, personally, I found it insufficient. Thankfully, there are several convenience stores nearby where you can buy additional food and drinks. The staff were very helpful, assisting us with booking local tours and answering transport-related questions. The location is convenient, being close to the central square and an Irish pub. Overall, despite the helpful staff and central location, I would not choose to stay here again.
The owner was kind. It wasn't spacious, but it was clean. The surrounding area has many apartments and a similar atmosphere, so I got lost at first. Other than that, it was very good.
I would like to inquire about the airport pickup service. Where should I contact you other than by phone?
Stayed here in Oct 2025 for 3 nights Excellent location, value for money, lovely staff and good breakfast :) Definitely recommended. Liked · 1. Excellent location, very close to the city centre. Sukhbaatar Square is only a 10min walk. Shops, eateries, cafes, supermarkets etc are within 5-10min walking distance 2. Lovely staff who take care of the place. Friendly, helpful and humble 3. Good breakfast mostly toast, 2 eggs, sausage and coffee/tea. 4. Common area was nice and big to socialise (but winter meant there were hardly any travellers when I went) 5. Shared fully equipped kitchen to make your own food if needed 6. Good beds with privacy curtains, sockets, light, lockers, tower etc. Disliked · 1. Property is 4 flights of stairs to walk from the ground floor, no lift. Harder for those with bigger/heavier bags 2. Wifi is a bit of a disappointment. Though its UFB the speed takes a hit and lot of buffering time 3. Only one toilet/bath on the side that I stayed n there were 12 dorm beds. Can be a bit of wait in the morning rush 4. Winter meant that there were almost no tours to the country side that could be organised. Staff were not around for me to find out about the tours/costs etc. Everyone tucked away in their beds due to cold :)
It was a nice experience to stay there. Entire hostel was clean and tidy. In addition, the staff were super friendly and helpful. They provided valuable information about the tour packages and sightseeing plans. Moreover, breakfast was included in the room tariff. It was good deal as the tariff was reasonable and that too with breakfast. Bed size in dorks was also enough. Furthermore, city center and Sukhbaatar Square was close by and it was easy to walk. Overall it was a god stay.
