Definitely not what they claim to be. This resort is in desperate need of remodeling and it appears last time any work was done here was decades ago. The resort is slowly being run down to extinction. Rooms are outdated and dirty. Air conditioning barely works. The filters on the AC unit and covered with dust so you will get headaches just being in a room. The staff is friendly but not very competent. Front desk staff are not allowed to make any decisions without first “checking with the supervisor”. Restaurant is constantly out of food items that are on the menu. Furthermore, the US Embassy runs this hotel and puts their military members here. So if they need specific rooms, the hotel will move you out of your room to accommodate the US Embassy. Thankfully a new Marriott property is being built next door which will likely completely shutter the Palau Pacific Resort. The only good thing about this resort is its private beach.

Palau is the best vacation destination. Even if you can't go scuba diving, you can experience the true Palau by just trying snorkeling. I highly recommend it. Try looking for the Orion constellation at night. The stars are pouring down. Back in 2018, it was easy to get there because there were direct flights from Korea, but unfortunately, there are no direct flights recently, so I can't even think about going. I would love to visit again once direct flights are established.
