When laws such as the same-sex marriage special law and the gender equality laws are successively passed, society seems to be more diverse and inclusive. Why is the operation of gender clubs on campus becoming increasingly difficult?
Gender identity has multiple layers of understanding for individuals and society, and it is how we understand ourselves and recognize society. There are not a few students on campus willing to bear the pressure and pay attention to gender issues. However, no matter how much enthusiasm, it cannot resist the斷層 of experience inheritance and the uneven distribution of resources. As organizational capacity gradually declines, often only a few people are struggling on campus, facing challenges such as insufficient manpower, limited experience, and lack of resources, and activists are more likely to feel frustrated and powerless.
For a long time, gender advocacy activists in various schools have been like isolated islands, only able to fight alone on campus. The concept of gender equality often gets stuck in reality. Therefore, we hope to connect activists from different schools through the "Campus Activist Program" to create opportunities for exchange and dialogue, share experiences and resources, and connect isolated islands into archipelagos.
When we connect with each other, we can accumulate the possibilities of action together.
