Phuket Kata Resotel

Perfect place to stay.

We stayed at this hotel with our baby, and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. During the night, our daughter suddenly became ill and vomited multiple times in the room. We contacted the reception for help, as we needed water and clean bed sheets. However, we were told that nothing could be done, and the night staff appeared to be asleep. We received no assistance at all in a stressful situation with a sick child. The following morning, our daughter was still unwell. We asked the reception if it would be possible to extend our check-out or receive any kind of support, but were again told that nothing could be done. No alternatives or solutions were offered. Later, our daughter had to be taken to the hospital due to her condition. When we finally checked out, I needed to briefly access something in my suitcase. The reception staff asked me to move the luggage elsewhere. I explained that I would do so, but asked if it was a problem. The staff member responded in a rude and raised voice, saying “yes, it is a problem.” Overall, we experienced a lack of basic service, empathy, and professionalism throughout our stay. In a situation involving a sick child, we expected at least minimal assistance, but unfortunately received none.

This hotel has a fantastic location and otherwise friendly staff. The standard is decent, but it’s an older hotel that feels closer to 3 stars than 4. Having been to Thailand before and stayed at several hotels, we know well what to expect. Unfortunately, our stay was ruined by two terrible female employees at the reception. It is unbelievable that they are allowed to work with that kind of behavior. Our child suddenly became very ill overnight and had to go to the hospital. We asked for a late check-out, even offering to pay for it, but they were completely unwilling to accommodate us – despite several rooms being available. That in itself could be understandable. However, it was the way they communicated, showing no empathy and being rude, that made the situation completely unacceptable. Because of this, we cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

The staff were unfriendly and didn't greet us during breakfast. I don't understand why there was no ice. There are a lot of mosquitoes, and it is difficult to replace the shower filter. The swimming pool is spacious and nice, and there are many cute cats. The location of the accommodation is good as it is right in front of the market and the sea.

We really enjoyed staying here. Loved that our room was poolside so could nip in and out of the pool and unit. A big thank you to the fantastic, helpful, friendly staff. Nuttapon the reservation manager was exceptional at helping us sort out a problem with our booking. Clean room and property in general. Location was great, in the centre of things but also quiet. Breakfast was nice and appriceated the complimentary coffee and treats offered each afternoon.

Very beautiful green area. Lots of swimming pools. Clean and well-maintained. Friendly staff. Cleaning every day. The minibar is cheaper than in the store.
