About this place Hotel Timor

Hotel Timor is a long-running mainstream hotel in central Dili, near the waterfront. It is listed as gay-friendly, not a gay venue, and it is one of the better-known places to stay in the capital. It holds a 4.3 Google rating from around 350 reviews. Same-sex relations are legal in Timor-Leste, but the country is conservative and largely Catholic, and there is no gay scene to speak of. Be discreet in public. Most of what you need in the centre is walkable or a short taxi ride.

The meeting room was comfortable, well-maintained, and equipped with complete facilities, making it suitable for business events and conferences. The environment was quiet and professional, allowing the meeting to run smoothly. The food served during the event was also good, with a nice variety and satisfying taste.

The hotel had beautiful wood accents, and everything was perfectly functional. Other reviews mentioned it was old, but while the lack of an elevator and some minor details in the bathroom are indeed dated, it wasn't a problem. The mie goreng at breakfast is addictive. I checked out early in the morning, and there was no one at the front desk, and I felt hesitant to call a bellhop to get my luggage. I'm glad I paid the day before. It's a hotel I'd like to stay at again the next time I come to East Timor.
