Sapporo Rainbow Pride ist das Pride-Wochenende von Hokkaido, das vom Sapporo Rainbow Pride-Exekutivkomitee veranstaltet wird. Es gibt eine Parade vom Odori Park durch das Zentrum von Sapporo und einen Bereich namens "Rainbow Street" mit Ständen, einer Bühne und Spielen. Sapporo veranstaltete seine erste Parade im Jahr 1996, als zweite Stadt Japans nach Tokyo, daher war 2026 das 30-jährige Jubiläum. Sie findet jedes Jahr im September statt.
Die Ausgabe 2026 fand am 26. und 27. September statt, die Parade am 27. Kyodo berichtete von rund 800 Teilnehmern, die eine Strecke von etwa 3 km zurücklegten, viele trugen Schilder mit der Aufschrift "Ja zur Ehegleichheit". Dieses Thema ist hier besonders wichtig: Im Jahr 2021 entschied das Sapporo District Court als erstes Gericht in Japan, dass das Verbot der gleichgeschlechtlichen Ehe verfassungswidrig ist. Die Termine für 2027 waren zum Zeitpunkt unserer Überprüfung noch nicht bekannt.
