Queer Lisboa ist Portugals führendes internationales queeres Filmfestival, das sich der Präsentation von Filmen widmet, die schwule, lesbische, bisexuelle, transsexuelle, transgender, intersexuelle und andere nicht-normative Sexualitäten und Identitäten thematisieren. Gegründet im Jahr 1997, ist es das am längsten laufende Filmfestival in Lissabon und hat sich international für sein kuratiertes Programm und seine vielfältigen Aktivitäten Anerkennung erworben.
Besucher können sich auf ein reichhaltiges Programm mit wettbewerbsfähigen und nicht-wettbewerbsfähigen Filmvorführungen freuen, darunter Spielfilme, Dokumentationen und Kurzfilme. Neben dem filmischen Angebot veranstaltet das Festival eine Vielzahl von Parallelveranstaltungen, darunter Workshops, Meisterkurse, Debatten, Konferenzen und Kunstausstellungen. Das Festival zielt darauf ab, theoretisches Denken rund um queere Themen zu fördern und das portugiesische queere Kino zu unterstützen.
Die Veranstaltung verwandelt Lissabon in einen lebendigen kulturellen Knotenpunkt und zieht Filmemacher, Künstler und Publikum aus aller Welt an. Vorführungen und Veranstaltungen finden an verschiedenen Orten in der ganzen Stadt statt und bieten eine einzigartige Mischung aus filmischer Erkundung und kultureller Immersion. Das Festival beinhaltet auch einen Publikumspreis für den besten Film in seinen Wettbewerbssektionen.
