Las Qolqas EcoResort Ollantaytambo

Gorgeous property that is functionally a hummingbird sanctuary with how many flowers are growing everywhere. We ended up cancelling plans one day just to hang around our tent (which is barely a tent and extremely nice) and read while birds landed on the bushes five feet away. We ended up doing that pachamanca experience, which was very good and realistically enough food for four people, and a massage. Super relaxing. I really recommend building in some time to be around the property. The staff was all very nice and attentive. My favorite little touches were the welcome pisco, the teas available in our room (made from the flowers in the garden), and the sound of the river at night.

Great, friendly service/staff, and good food. Great rooms as well. BUT Be aware - dogs barking all night. Extremely loud and annoying, defeats the whole purpose of everything when you can’t even fall asleep due to it, even with earplugs in. It is not the resort’s fault by any means but sadly it ruined the experience by a lot for me. Extremely irritating and annoying.

Absolutely gorgeous eco resort with glamping tents, private bathroom and wonderful amenities including an amazing kitchen and reservation only sauna and hot tub. We really enjoyed this stay as a starting point to acclimation before our Inca trail hike. The place is serene, peaceful and well appointed - from the welcome drink (pisco sour as well as a non-alcoholic option) to the amazing lunches and dinners and comfortable lodging. The semi-permanent tents were amazing, felt like a regular room but nice that you could "feel" the elements like the wind and rain - while enjoying the luxury of a warm bed, wifi, wide selection of teas, a few snacks, a wood stove (the staff must light it up) and private bath. I thought the shower water was fine but my wife thought it could have been a bit hotter but it was an extremely minor nit. The kitchen, service and spa staff in particular were very warm and friendly.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel people should know about our experience at Los Qolques Eco Lodge. We had booked this stay months in advance and were genuinely excited for the trip. Shortly before traveling, I was diagnosed with a high-risk twin pregnancy, and my doctor explicitly advised me not to travel to high altitudes due to the risks involved. We provided the hotel with a medical note and explained the situation honestly and respectfully. Out of every hotel we booked during our trip, Los Qolques was the only one that refused to show any empathy or flexibility. Not only did they refuse to provide any type of refund or accommodation despite the medical emergency, but the way we were treated throughout the process was incredibly cold and dismissive. What made the experience even more disappointing is that other hotels, including Mountain View, handled the situation with kindness, understanding, and compassion. They treated us like human beings during a stressful and emotional moment. I completely understand that hotels have policies, but there is also such a thing as basic decency and customer care, especially when it involves a documented high-risk pregnancy. Sadly, this hotel showed neither. Las Qolqas is an extremely attractive, serene property a 5 min drive/30 minute walk into the main town. Very comfy beds, nice decor and we loved hearing the sound of the river flowing next to our room. The only problem we had was with the staff/management in the restaurant. There seems to be some miscommunication between the chefs and waitresses, or some lying scheme going on, because on multiple times we were served random dishes we didn’t order. One evening, chicken was on the menu, but when we were served our food, it was definitely beef. Mine was undercooked and it was then that my partner pointed out that it wasn’t chicken, and the waitress then confessed it was beef. Super strange - we wouldn’t have minded if the staff were upfront about it, but instead she laughed and acted like she had been found out. Breakfast was nice, but again peculiar service - were served raw mushrooms one morning and despite asking for certain things on the menu (which the waitress said she’d bring), they never showed up. It happened too many times to be a language barrier. Was very infuriating! Overall, lovely property but definitely lacking on the staff side which made it an average stay.

I can’t say enough positive things about our stay! The staff from the reception desk, restaurant, and spa were all amazing! Breakfast was filling and great before adventure days in Sacred Vallley. We ate dinner at the restaurant each night and loved it. The property is beautiful and relaxing exceeding all my expectations! The staff answered all our questions and helped arrange transport services. We regretted not staying longer!

We visited the spa for a couples special. The water circuit and massage were exactly what we needed for a relaxing day. The staff were so kind and very good at their jobs. Would recommend stopping by if you are in the area!

Great food, clean air, comfortable lodging.

I booked a night at Las Qolqas EcoResort in Ollantaytambo to explore the area before starting the Inca Trail, and it delivered exactly what I was hoping for. Before arrival, the resort reached out to organise a pickup from town, which made things simple. On arrival I was welcomed with a drink, checked in promptly, and given time to sit and take in the gardens before being shown around the property and escorted to my room. The staff explained all the amenities clearly, and I liked that each tent or suite is themed around the flower that surrounds it. The room itself is well suited to a solo traveller or a couple. There is a private deck at the front with sun chairs overlooking the gardens and surrounding mountains. Inside, the bed was comfortable and the tent was well equipped with a heater and fireplace, which made it feel cosy without losing the eco feel. The bathroom was modern and well finished. The setting is a standout. The tents are positioned along the river, surrounded by mountains and well maintained gardens, so it feels quiet and secluded without being far from town. I even had a hummingbird in the garden outside my tent, which added to the overall experience. I opted for the three course dinner on site, which was good and very filling. The portions are generous, so it is worth keeping that in mind. The staff were consistently helpful and attentive throughout the stay, and that carried through to departure. They organised a car to get me to the train station earlier than their standard schedule, and because I was leaving before breakfast they prepared a takeaway breakfast pack, which was a practical and appreciated touch. Overall, this is a well run eco resort in a strong location with a peaceful setting and thoughtful service, and it works very well as a stop before or after the Inca Trail.

Nice but very overpriced. Know what you are getting - there is a spa, with sauna; but it must be reserved, and only one person/room can reserve by the hour. And of course, you can't reserve before you arrive! So forget about using it, practically speaking. Dinner is pretty good, but again, know there is nothing 5 star happening here. Rooms are tents, nice but small - the 8 bed tent has little room to stand up. Well located and really pretty location. But grossly overpriced for what you get. Nowhere near the quality of service or facilities for the price. Very Peruvian in that regard. As an update - hot water is solar powered - so shower before 8 PM or do without.

An exceptional resort experience from start to finish. The entire property was immaculate, with every detail thoughtfully maintained, and the level of service was truly impeccable. It felt like a perfect blend of comfort and luxury. After completing the 4-day Inca Trail, this was the ideal place to relax and recharge. The on-site spa was a highlight, offering a much-needed moment of recovery, and every meal I had was absolutely outstanding—beautifully prepared and full of flavor. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a luxurious and restorative stay.

The experience was truly special and the place is divine! The food, the rooms, the attractions—everything was great. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel very comfortable. We also used the yoga studio, which is beautiful. Thank you for everything, and we'll definitely see you soon!
