This resort in the Sacred Valley worked out perfect for us. Amazing views, amazing service and great fresh food. We arrived in Peru and were planning a couple days in Cusco and a visit to Machu Picchu. We heard that staying in Cusco at the beginning of a trip often gave travelers horrible altitude sickness. We did not want to rush Machu Picchu either, so we spent the first night at Las Qolqas, then took the train from Ollantaytambo to Aquas Calientes. The train does not allow big bags, so we left our bags at Las Qolqas and took our day packs to overnight in Aquas Calientes so we were ready for an early start in Machu Picchu the next day. After Machu Picchu we took the train back down to Ollantaytambo and spent another night at Las Qolqas. It was a great way to break up the altitude and make a home base for our Machu Picchu visit. They went above and beyond to make our visit memorable.

So peaceful and luxurious! Views of sacred Incan mountains rising up to about 20,000 feet. The sound of creek running nearby. Relaxing sauna and onsen. Delicious breakfast. Hummingbirds everywhere. Flowers blooming all around. Very comfortable beds. Free shuttle into town. A hidden gem just 10 min from the old Incan town of Ollantaytambo, a name I keep mispronouncing. 😃

Perfect visit-this is an awesome spot in the middle of the sacred valley where you are equidistant to a lot of the major sites. The resort is so peaceful, you can hear the river nearby and feel like you are in nature. The cabins are very cozy with excellent views out to the mountains. Staff is very friendly, and the resort coordinates day excursions with local guides if you’re interested. Our guide Fernando was excellent. for those up for a challenging and gorgeous hike, the Inti Punku hike is wonderful-no crowds and spectacular views. Excellent place to stay and made our trip to Peru special.

Nestled in a beautiful valley beside a river, this lodge offers a serene escape. The thoughtfully designed gardens, featuring a delightful array of native flowers and plants, create a tranquil atmosphere. During our spa session, the use of these natural elements was particularly appreciated. The restaurant and accommodating kitchen were a huge hit, especially for those with food allergies. The property itself feels like a sanctuary, providing a peaceful retreat. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the attention to detail in the rooms was truly appreciated. We’d love to return if the opportunity arises. Highly recommended!

We absolutely love our time at Los Qolqas! It was stunning, the staff was amazing, and the food was the best we’ve had in Peru. Perfect get away from the noise of Ollantaytambo to relax and see the stars. The staff was super helpful in helping us find the right day trips and their network of guides are the best! The whole family was sad to leave. Worth every dollar to stay here :)
