I almost never write negative reviews, but despite trying to handle the situation kindly, I've never been treated so poorly by staff at an event. We arrived at the ticket office shortly before 11:00 PM, showing our UniPd membership card and our Pride Village card on Apple Wallet. The cashier briefly looked at the Village card and dismissed us, saying it wasn't the card. Since it was our first time at the Pride Village, we moved to check, thinking we'd shown a QR code from a pre-sale or something, only to realize that the card was actually legitimate. This wasted our time, and by the time we got back in line, it was after 11:00 PM, so we were no longer technically eligible for free student entry. We explained what had happened to the colleague next door, but the cashier lied to us, denying that he'd rejected our card and claiming we hadn't told him we were UniPad students, thus demanding full payment even though the delay had been caused by his error. It wasn't the eight euros that made the difference, but it was dishonest and unprofessional.
I've been going to this place for years; it was always like coming home when it reopened for the season, the ideal place to unwind in a safe and happy place. Returning for yet another summer and seeing the downsizing of the space was disappointing at first glance; it's more cramped, almost like a lack of budget. Now you have to pay to see guests regardless of their entry time; in fact, you have to pay to stand under the stage, cordoned off with a wristband. The others are behind. Or outside the pavilion if it's inside. For example, at Immanuel Casto's concert, you couldn't understand almost anything he was speaking because, as often happens, the music was too loud and the microphone was low. The sound system needs an overhaul. My friends and I are disappointed, but we'll probably return next year, hoping for better. Yesterday, the music until 1:00 was barely danceable and yawn-inducing; I think they noticed because they often encouraged the audience to move/raise their hands. I don't know if things improved afterward because we left. For the first time, I was bored. I'm so sorry to have to say these things.
