Austin Pride es la celebración anual del orgullo LGBTQ+ de Austin, cada agosto con un desfile por Congress Avenue —uno de los emplazamientos simbólicamente más significativos para una marcha del orgullo en cualquier ciudad estadounidense, dado el telón de fondo del contexto político de Texas. El evento reúne unas 40.000 personas en el corredor de Congress Avenue y alrededores para el desfile, seguido de un festival con varios escenarios, organizaciones comunitarias, puestos de comida y todo el abanico de actividades propias de una gran celebración del orgullo. Agosto en Austin es caluroso —se superan a veces los 38°C— pero el evento atrae a participantes comprometidos que entienden que la visibilidad en Texas es tanto un acto político como una celebración. Lo opera Austin Pride, la organización sin ánimo de lucro que produce el evento desde 1997 y coordina la programación más amplia del mes del orgullo, incluidos eventos en colaboración con bares, organizaciones y espacios culturales de Austin.
