Great boutique hotel, with friendly staff and cool vibes. Location is perfect for DC walking areas.

Not off to a good start so far. Room was not ready during check in time (3pm). No help with luggage on arrival. Our "suite" on initial impression was underwhelming - feels outdated. Their system is down so we haven't gotten keys to the room. The pull out sofa bed still had old dirty sheets and comforter still in it covered in food crumbs.

The experience here was good. The hotel is nice and well maintained. I was here for an event and the hotel is beautiful, let's get that right. It just set us back a bit since one of the elevators weren't working and the stairs didn't go to the top floor. Or at least I don't think they did. The service was very helpful for whatever else we did need.

TLDR: Staff are rude and dumb, not ADA compliant, hotel smells like weed. DO NOT STAY HERE, YOU WILL REGRET IT My family stayed at Eaton for 5 nights. The hotel smelled like marijuana as soon as we walked in. Once we got to our room, none of the lights would turn on. So we tried to call the front desk, but we discovered that none of the electricity was working so we decided to go back to the lobby and ask the front desk. When we explained the issue, the lady at the front, Sella, said “It’s European”. Like we were supposed to know what that meant. Then she said, you put the room key in the socket. I said, “the electrical socket? How would a card fit in there”, to which she replied, “it’s the socket”. Not helpful. So I said okay, where is this socket? And she said “it’s where the socket is”. Again, not helpful. So we went back up to our room to try and figure it out. Turns out “European style” means you have to put your room key into the “socket”, which is a card holder near the front door. But that is not the biggest issue… I am a type 2 diabetic, and require insulin, which must be kept in a fridge. Since we were traveling across the country from CA, I brought my freezer packs (they have a temperature gauge). When we checked in, I asked for a fridge in our room to put my medication. They said that they do not have fridges (they are required to per ADA guidelines). So they had a mini fridge sent up to our room. This fridge did not have a freezer, but that wasn’t a huge issue since we still had a few nights before I would need to freeze my freezer packs for transport. Fast forward to 2 days before we are supposed to leave, I go down to the lobby front desk to ask about a freezer for my ice packs. Again, I am told they do not have a freezer, but I explained the necessity. They took my two ice packs I handed them, and took them to their back office area. I assumed this meant they would be freezing them in the employee freezer, as is common in hotels when mini freezers aren’t available. My family went out for the day, and when we returned hours later, I saw that the fridge was different. I go to open it and see it is a freezer chest (I was told they didn’t even have those). Our mini fridge is nowhere to be seen. The problem: MY DIABETIC MEDICATION WAS FROZEN. For those who do not know (Sella), you cannot freeze diabetic medication as it changes the proteins in the medication. Even if it is thawed, it is unsafe to use and must be discarded. Additionally, diabetic medication is quite expensive, even with insurance. So to recap, our fridge was replaced with a freezer and all of our stuff was moved over- all without our knowledge or consent. The sodas that bulged were the cherry on top. So I go down to the hotel lobby to speak with the front desk staff again, and Sella is the one I unfortunately have to speak with. I calmly explained the problem, and she just said “oh okay, so do you want a fridge then?”. The point of all of this is to say, if you have any medical accommodations, or if you just don’t want to sleep somewhere that reeks of weed and has condescending and incompetent staff, maybe stay at the Hilton. Or the Marriott. Or literally anywhere besides this damn boutique hotel. I think the homeless guy who was begging us daily just outside the front doors had a better arrangement going on. Currently working on filing a complaint on the ADA website.

I needed a hotel in the area and ChatGPT said I’d like this better than the local big brand hotels. It was right! The Eaton has loads of character and the rooms are really comfortable.

Location and room are nice. Like others, I was also surprised by the additional $40/day amenities fee. They should have included it in the booking price so it won’t give people an illusion that the hotel is cheaper than others.

The best hotel I ever stayed at. Every room is unique. Beautiful rooftop, art exhibits and even a radio/dj station. Professional and kind staff. Great place to host a conference.

Cute little hotel in DC that is not a mass market chain. The rooms are beautiful with little touches like books and a vinyl player. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.
