The staff was friendly. The rooms were clean. The shower was hot. The building appeared to have been renovated a few years ago. The floor plan was atypical for US hotels and gave it somewhat of a European feel. The vibe in the lobby and the bar along with bicycles available to tour around gave it a fun feel.
Stayed at Trumbell during Movement weekend and had a great experience ! I even extended my stay by one night with the help of the guy up front. The bartender had lived in Michigan for a long time and was very friendly. The room was fine. It was worth the $. It wasn’t super fancy but when I’m on vacation I’m barely in my room. When I visit Detroit again I will stay here
This hotel was exactly what I needed. I stayed one night while on a work trip. Clean, safe, but certainly nothing flashy.
I booked this room through Expedia, when I called with a check-in question they said I had no reservation with them and should contact Expedia. Makes sense. I have been on the phone with Expedia now for over 25 minutes because every time they call the hotel to remediate the issue, the hotel has hung up on them. I'm getting a nicer room through the third party since this place was so nasty to customer service representatives trying to help me book a room there.
I stayed here last year and forgot to write a review. First off let me say the staff that I did encounter was fine, but realistically I didn’t need anything other than to check in. This is a review on the hotel and the rooms. The room was the size of a closet. The floors were cold cement. The bathroom was extremely small with NO COUNTER, just a “cart” to put your toiletries on. The shower itself was old and outdated as was the bathroom in general. I always go with 3 star hotels because they have restaurants attached so that I am not obligated to always leave to get food. Well, they had a restaurant, but it was closed. Not like business hours closed, but not operational closed. Location was great though. Kind of on the outskirts of downtown Detroit so that you’re close enough to everything but not right in the middle of downtown if you want to avoid traffic. Honestly, in my 42 years on earth, this is probably the worst room I’ve ever stayed in.
It’s a nice hotel. Very nice rooms. Bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Pet friendly. You need to pay for your coffee.
Love the young staff and guests. All were so kind and friendly with this lone granny.
