Hôtel Trumbull and Porter

I’m a celebrity barber from Cleveland Ohio.I stayed here for 2 nights.Everything was amazing! I recommend and short drive to downtown. They were so accommodating as i had my event dates mixed up.But not a problem they got me right in.Staff was so nice and professional.

Out dated and below standard

DO NOT GO THERE!!! Overpowering urine odor, especially near the full length mirror (what did people do?) - masked in the whole room by harsh chemicals. Night staff refused room change or any follow-up. Management ignored formal email complaints.

This place is absolutely disgusting. It smells, looks, and feels like you’re staying in a prison cell. My room wasn’t clean at all when I walked in, the bed wasn’t even made. My room smelled like cat piss, mold, and cigarettes. My coworkers room had cigarette buds everywhere, another had mold everywhere, another had dirty sheets and an imprint of where someone had laid on her bed. The place just felt dirty as soon as you walked in. The only reason I was staying here is because a tour I was on put us here. As soon as I walked in my room I took a video and walked out. I just couldn’t do it. Every girl that was on tour with me walked out and slept in the parking lot on our tour bus instead. Do not stay here, this place is a dump and needs to go out of business.

It depends what you are looking for staying downtown but for the price the rooms are clean, nice bed and yes minimalistic but I’ve had no issues. The courtyard with a fire pit is a great space no one in the city has to offer - they should advertise that more!!! Good location and staff has always been on point. Also dog friendly which is cool. Not a high end hotel but doesn’t claim to be but value for the price is spot on. I would recommend to anyone. You also get FREE gated parking which doesn’t happen much downtown!!

I think I understand what they're going for from a design standpoint, but it wasn't for me. The room was very small and the industrial feel was fine, but the overhead bare bulb lights were off-putting. That was kind of the general feel I had of the place. It was fine, but off-putting in some way. I wouldn't call it comfortable or cozy. The bar was nice and the bartender was friendly and made great drinks.

Although the bartender and front desk were nice, the rooms did not looks like photos online. The walls are also paper thin where you could hear other people snoring, screaming and fighting or having sex. The floors were also cracked concrete and the bathroom ceiling had yellow water stains. They also dont give fresh towels, make the bed, take out the garbage, and by the third day, our towels were soaked. House keeping and cleanliness was poor. There is no food at the restaurant/bar. Otherwise, the fireplace and the courtyard were great.

This hotel has a boho chic vibe. Concrete floors, modern fixtures. The staff was very friendly and we were able to get into our room (king) at 11 am after arriving early for a ballgame. Location was close to Comerica Park and although we didn't walk to the ballpark I know some people did. The attached "restaurant" only serves drinks, no food. The building appears to be old. It's been refurbished with some saying the hotel has character. But we felt it was was refurbished just enough to get by. The walls are thin and we could hear yelling during the night. The king bed was very comfortable. The two issues we had with the room were that the shower had only one stationary panel. So the shower was drafty because the back end was completely open and the bathroom floor got wet because of it. No grab bar to help get out on the wet floor. We took showers before bed so that was good because there was no hot water in the morning. My husband shaved with cold water. Not a terrible hotel stay but I wouldn't stay there again.

Converted motel that is very comfortable and in walking distance of Corktown bars, cafes, and restaurants. Not a cushy hotel but great for urban adventurers. Very nice front desk staff. Takes a $150 deposit for incidentals but there are no incidentals.

Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.

my partner and i checked in on 4/24 and were there a total of 5 minutes. immediately upon walking into the lobby it smelled very musty, but the decor was pleasant. we went to our room, all the while it got mustier, and entered. we almost immediately left seeing the condition of the room. there was an outlet cover sitting on the floor near the wall, and one of the glass art frames on the wall was cracked. the atmosphere felt very uncomfortable. we went back down to the front desk to request a refund because we did not feel comfortable staying in this room, to which we were denied and given a card with the manager’s email on it. i’m really hoping i at least get my $150 incidental deposit back as planned. i can understand why they would be frustrated, but the staff was quite rude during our check out. i do not recommend staying here even though the local art concept is very inviting. they just do not seem very up to keeping the place clean.

Stayed at the Trumbull and Porter Hotel and seriously loved it. The place was super clean, really quiet, and had such a relaxed vibe. Staff were genuinely friendly and made everything easy. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay—I’ll definitely be coming back every time I’m in the area.
