Perfection! This hotel combines a historic quality, fantastic staff, unique rooms and buildings, good food, easy parking, location and maybe a friendly sprit or two at night. I feel like it's such a great place I don't need to say much so I will keep it limited. Check in is easy and efficient and friendly. Just walking in you will feel the attention to detail and unique historic quality of a great hotel. I like options. A room was already chosen for me but I wanted to see my options, well they chose best for my needs. Room decor is beautiful and unique and historic. Room was spacious. Dominique is a true gem. She knew my name on day one (I was there a week). Reina at the front desk was also always friendly. Everyone I encountered was just fantastic. Parking was easy and plentiful. I was a little worried about walking around and felt just fine walking to the quarter. At night it could be dark so just be smart. They have a perfect little pool. Just enough to get away, cool off and relax. The restaurant is delicious and bar is always fun and was busy enough but not too much.

I want to preface this by saying we are not difficult guests. We are not people who complain. This was our third stay at Hotel Peter & Paul, always booking two rooms. We have recommended this property to friends. We came back because we genuinely loved what this place represented. What happened on this trip has ensured we will never return, and that we will make certain others know exactly what to expect. Check-In: 90 Minutes Late, Zero Accountability We arrived having traveled through the night. We waited over an hour and a half to check into our rooms. Not one apology. Not one explanation. Not a glass of water, not a kind word, nothing offered to acknowledge the inconvenience to two exhausted guests. We had to request a room change for our daughter ourselves — the thought of offering a solution apparently never occurred to anyone on staff. Housekeeping: A Daily Battle For all five nights of our stay, housekeeping had to be requested every single day. It never came on its own. At a Michelin-recognized boutique property, guests should not have to hunt down basic daily service. This was consistent and relentless throughout the entire stay. The Checkout Morning Incident This is the part that I am documenting carefully, because it needs to be on record. I had confirmed a late checkout of 12:00 PM at the front desk. At 11:00 AM, a housekeeper entered our room without warning. My husband was undressed, preparing to shower. I calmly informed her that we had a confirmed late checkout. Instead of apologizing for walking in unannounced, she became immediately confrontational — raising her voice, insisting the late checkout had not been confirmed. My husband said nothing. He closed the bathroom door and got in the shower. What happened next is something I have never witnessed at any hotel in my life. This employee stood in the hallway and screamed — loudly, at a volume audible to the entire floor — using profane and degrading language directed at my husband by name. Unprovoked. He had done nothing but close a door. When he came out of the room to address the situation calmly, a male staff member arrived — not to apologize, not to de-escalate, but to yell at and threaten my husband. He was told how to “behave” and “act” as though he were the problem. My husband was threatened by hotel staff while in his own room during confirmed late checkout hours. Management: The Final Insult We went directly to the manager to report what had happened. We were two loyal, returning guests describing a threatening and hostile encounter with her employees. Her response was to tell us not to use profanity with her — we had not used any — and to dismiss us without hearing a single word of what we came to say. She did not ask what happened. She did not acknowledge us. She shut us down entirely and made clear that she had no interest in what we had experienced. That moment, more than anything else, told us everything we needed to know about the culture of this property from the top down. Where Things Stand Formal complaints have been filed with the Michelin Guide and with Ash Hotels corporate leadership. This review is part of that record. We have traveled extensively, staying at properties around the world over many years. We have never — not once — experienced anything like this. Not the threatening conduct. Not the screaming in a hallway. Not a manager who looks two guests in the eye and simply refuses to listen. Hotel Peter & Paul is a beautiful building with a remarkable history. It deserves leadership and staff who are worthy of it. What is there right now is not.

I love the idea of this hotel and the location – close to the French Quarter but definitely not in it – can’t be beat. The people who work there couldn’t be more welcoming. That said, neither the hotel nor the restaurant were the wow I expected. One tip: ask for a room that’s not on the first floor, as it was a little disconcerting to open the shades of our window to find we were directly facing the sidewalk and random people walking by.

Hotel Peter and Paul is working to become the best and coolest hotel in New Orleans. The rooms are clean and well appointed and the well-trained and managed staff presents to guests an atmosphere that is efficient, relaxed and friendly. After just a day I felt I was home. Its location in the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood near the South 7th Ward between the French Quarter and Bywater is perfect for exploring the city's best bars and restaurants. And speaking of those, the restaurant and bar at Hotel Peter and Paul are not to be missed, fun times and great food. I highly recommend this hotel. Aces across the board.

We can't stop raving to friends about our experience staying at this charming, historic hotel. It started with the friendly, welcoming staff (Diana) that found us a lovely room even thought the hotel was full of wedding guests as our travel agent had booked the wrong dates. It continued with our romantic comfortable room and the third floor lounge with the honor bar. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious breakfast every morning with the friendly, professional service of Secret, our server. While the hotel is walking distance to French Quarter (15 min) it is in a quiet neighborhood. We read there will be a pool finished early Summer. They also have a deep discounted month stay option for the Summer. We will be back!

Wow. Wow wow wow. I booked this hotel on HotelTonight last minute as I was driving cross country unexpectedly after receiving news of my father’s cancer diagnosis. I was searching for a pet friendly hotel that would accept my giant lovable dog and found very limited options. Until I stumbled upon this one! What was initially expected to just be an overnight landing pad as we made our way quickly became anything but; starting with arrival. Initially, my husband was side eyeing me as the GPS counted down the minutes to the hotel. We were arriving at night and the neighborhood didn’t scream “family friendly.” Thankfully he pressed on, the glow of 2 LGBTQ bars brightening up the otherwise dark streets. Just beyond that, the beautiful architecture of the church jetted up in the sky; twinkling romantic string lights illuminating the drive thru where you park to check in. You know when a place has quiet magic? Where it feels like a warm hug, and your heart almost skips a beat when you lay eyes on it? I got goosebumps hopping out the vehicle; immediately the sense of being somewhere special overtook me. The lobby was unbelievable, it felt almost like walking the halls of Hogwarts. So much so, despite driving all day from Texas, crying over the news of my father, overstimulated from a crying baby in the backseat; I still was enamored enough to have to fight back urges to explore every nook and cranny. A smiling receptionist greeted me warmly, his kind and friendly presence yet low volume almost ASMR in the magical hall. I was instantly relaxed and ready to snuggle into bed, as if I was greeted by a friend welcoming me home. As if his natural charisma wasn’t enough, he brought my overtired toddler an adorable coloring book with fun drawings of the hotel, and a yellow fan. That alone bought me enough time to comfortably unload the truck on their luggage racks without interruptions. (I still own both gifts to this day… the beautiful yellow fan even mounted on my wall, art to remember that special stay.) I was shocked upon entering the room at how unique, well designed, and just plain interesting it was. My daughter and I giggled, exploring the magic around every corner. The bright shower was so exciting. The low ceilings, just tall enough for a 2 year old to sneak around and play. Enough space to sprawl luggage and its belongings out every which way without entering the walk way. An ADHD travelers dream. And don’t even get me started on the claw foot tub direct across from the foot of the bed. Never before have I been able to lounge in crisp white sheets, enjoying a morning coffee while watching my little one enjoy a calm bath. Writing reviews on hotel stays is not something I have done before, normally it is a fleeting moment lost to time. But Hotel Peter and Paul was special, and not even just because of its charm and beauty, but because it was the first hotel I’ve experienced some sort of phenomenon. Now what that phenomenon was I still haven’t determined and probably never will. Haunted? Maybe. I also felt like it could be God, as it was a very religious site and the only art on the wall was Jesus. But whatever it was, for the sake of the story, let’s call it a ghost. It’s not too far fetched being that there are plenty of places deemed haunted in NOLA. In the dead of nighttime, all three of us in bed asleep, I was awoken by the bathroom lights on and the bathroom sink sounding like it was running. It was bizarre, enough to make me check if my husband and daughter were both still beside me and sure enough they were. So I fell back asleep immediately which is alarming and besides the point, only to be awoken again later in the night to the loud sound of the very heavy curtain being jerked open or closed. This time I remember feeling like an energy or something in the room but was never scared. It felt friendly. Overall it was exciting, beautiful, peaceful, and felt like the real magic of New Orleans. I was shocked the next day not seeing any ghost stories about this hotel when I googled it! This is my favorite hotel now. Walking distance also to a delicious breakfast spot. I look forward to returning someday and seeing if my friendly visitor returns. Thank you Hotel Peter and Paul for the hospitality and breath of fresh air on an otherwise depressing trip.

Love this hotel for being close enough to the quarter, but in a more quiet and interesting area. Hotel, rooms and common areas are gorgeous and the bar/restaurant top notch and very romantic. Friendly and helpful staff.
