Stayed here for a couple of nights in June 2026. I was there alone for a business meeting and this was reasonably close to the venue. Room was really tiny even by midtown Manhattan standards. Barely room to move within the room. The sink was in the room and the bathroom (if you can call it that) was the size of a small closet - and there was no closet. The worst part was the noise. The AC was really loud and kept going all night and blowing really hard. The plumbing was also very noisy, making it really difficult to sleep at night. The shades let in way too much light despite being drawn. I had to a speech the next morning and this environment was not conducive to getting rested before the event. While the location is central and convenient (depending on where you need to go), the immediate surrounding was pretty terrible with a few homeless on the sidewalk and construction (a NYC perennial, unfortunately) blocking the street. The cafe/diner was OK. Lobby was cramped. Staff could be inconsiderate (they pre-empted guests when entering the elevators, which I have rarely seen in any hotel). Being hip doesn't make up for the many inconveniences. Would not stay here again.

Great central location, good service, but teeny rooms and not super clean.

I had an incredibly horrible experience with this hotel. I did book through "Hotel Tonight" but didn't see the language "the hotel will select the room type. Fine. I'm mean worst case scenario it would be two doubles beds right? BUNK BEDS. After even writing saying we were driving 4 hours for an even away from kids for my 50th birthday. I immediately went back down to the desk where I overheard that there were rooms available to others trying to check in, the manager says "I'm sorry we are sold out, I can't change it. I will let you cancel for no fee" you book d through a third party (like everyone else on the planet) and there is nothing we can do for you. Keep in mind these weren't just bunk beds, they were also about 4 and half feet long and I am 6'5". They also installed a tv where the footboard should be on top and bottom so my feet wouldn't fit through. The top bed railing was about to come off, very unsafe. There is nowhere to put bags, but there is a wardrobe. There is no furniture except a 2x2 piece of wood as a "desk" that had clear water stains all over. The bathroom was 50% of the room size. The door was frosted glass but had a o e foot gap at the top and bottom so there was no privacy. The room had one shade but the curtain was missing from the room. The valet was bumped up to $85 dollars instead of $75 dollars because my Jeep is considered an SUV. They also informed me that the street is closed n the morning so most likely the will have to meet me at the corner. The next morning, the manager tells me it's best to walk to the garage "On 33rd street." "Ok, so what part of 33rd street?" "Oh it's just two blocks away and it's call GGM parking" "Ok, do you have an addrees? The valet ticket has none of this information." Finally she wrote the phone number on the ticket for me "just in case" At the end of the day it was $85 to park valet where ai had to carry luggage two blocks and get my own car. The kicker? Their sign said WEEKEND SPECIAL: $26 overnight parking. On top of getting the room between $300-$400 they added an Urban Fee of $40 for such luxuries as WiFi and a free yoga mat at a gym not really in the building.

Nice hotel in a great location. We stayed in the Sky King room on the 29th floor. While the room wasn't directly facing the Empire State Building, we still had a nice view of it from the corner of the bed. I'm not sure if there are rooms with a direct Empire State Building view, but the view we had was still impressive. The room was clean and well-maintained. The only issue—and unfortunately it was a major one—was that the air conditioning wasn't working properly. By the morning, the room temperature had reached 85°F, which made it very uncomfortable and difficult to stay in. The manager was friendly and addressed the issue by providing a complimentary breakfast. While I appreciated the gesture, it didn't fully make up for the inconvenience, especially considering the price of the room. Overall, despite the AC issue, we had a good experience and enjoyed our stay.

About the service. Awful. I checked out and left the hotel at 8am (with all of my belongings). 24 hours later they charged me a late checkout fee ($75+taxes). When I called to explain that it was a mistake, their staff told me that their housekeeping reported being unable to enter the room at 1:45pm so I was charged a late checkout fee. I explained that I don't know whether that's true or if it was a mistake, but they refused to refund me saying sorry, we believe this note from housekeeping means you checked out late. What kind of hotel doesn't believe their customers when they call them to report an accounting mistake? It was a one night stay on a Wednesday — I'm obviously a business traveler. The money isn't even mine to lose, it was a fully expensed trip, but in my opinion the principle remains the same: there is no appropriate response to something like this other than "I'm sorry for the mistake, we'll get that refunded right away". About the hotel: Quality and vibe are fine. Rooms are very small. The curtains let in tons of light, it's tough to sleep into the morning past sunrise.
