The Standard, High Line

We always stay here and the staff are so kind. We have high standards and this hotel meets them all. Super comfortable beds, lovely people, perfect location. We love all the staff but a shoutout to our favorites, Alexis, Johnny, and Juan always take great care of us! Also shout out to Louwe!!

I am not someone who typically does this, but given what happened, I feel like I must share this. So I stayed here from the 22-24th of May, 2026. The stay was absolutely fine, but when I left, I got a sudden charge of $1,200 on my credit card statement. No email from the hotel, just a charge. I call the hotel to enquire what happened, and they said it was for damage to the TV in the room. I asked for evidence that we damaged the TV, and they said they couldn't provide it, just that housekeeping noted that there was damage. They said it was not physical damage, but that there was a black line on the TV screen when turned on. The person I went with noted it and told me after that they noticed a thin black line when they turned it on for a few minutes one day, but thought it might be a pixel issue with an old tv, so did not think to report it. I asked to speak to a manager or the general manager on repeated calls to the hotel, but I was not connected to them and said they could not do anything as it was hotel policy. I have close to 600 room nights in the last 10 years in hotels, and have never seen such disregard for hospitality.

I just stayed at this property for three nights and got no rest at all! There is a bar right beside the hotel that is open every night until 4AM and plays excessively loud music. Beware!! The hotel is lovely and the restaurant is fabulous with a generous happy hour. But no sleep in NYC is a big problem. I’ll never stay there again…sorry.

The rooms are okay, very small and the bathroom is weird. But amenities are great! The gym is incredible. Location is also fantastic

American Express incorrectly booked our stay and we had to check out a day earlier than expected. The team at The Standard was exceptional and friendly, we ended up leaving about 5 hours late. I had a box of contacts delivered to the hotel and with minutes to spare until we had to leave for the airport, the receptionist (tall man with curly black hair and a pink bandana) went out of his way to find them and hand them to me as I was walking out. Single-handedly turned a bad check-out experience into a great and memorable one. A bellhop helped load my suitcase into the trunk of my uber as well.

Dealing with their front desk is a chore and headache. Never going back there.

Unfortunately, this time I left the hotel disappointed, despite always enjoying my previous stays here. I specifically chose and paid for a higher-category room based on the photos shown, only to be told upon arrival that the images were incorrect due to a Booking.com issue — although the mapping mistake was clearly on the hotel’s side. As a result, I could not stay in the room I had booked and paid for based on those visuals. The receptionist at first was quite rude and unwilling to listen. Although the team later tried to help, they never truly resolved the issue or offered any meaningful compensation/refund. Offering 50 USD felt far from adequate. In addition, the room was extremely dusty due to the carpet flooring and the cleanliness was below expectations. The only real positive is the excellent location. Overall, sadly, it was a very disappointing experience.

The view from top terrace is amazing!!! Great drinks and wines.

My room showed me what the 30's in NY would look like to with modern touches. I had a great view of the Hudson, a cool football pitch and could see One World Trade in the near background. Not much going on activity wise nearby. Its a targeted stay- if its near what you need- I recommend. *Prepare yourself for vamparicly dark elevators with equally gothic like videos shown within. Different.

Rooms were a little run down and the service was a little slow to check in but the location is great and room was quiet and clean
