OutFest Philadelphia es el festival anual de cine LGBTQ+ de la ciudad, celebrado cada octubre en salas de Center City y el Gayborhood. Como uno de los festivales de cine queer con más recorrido de la costa este, OutFest reúne largometrajes, documentales y cortos de cineastas queer estadounidenses e internacionales, con obras que van desde adquisiciones de festivales mainstream hasta trabajos experimentales y comunitarios que no encontrarían otra plataforma en la ciudad. La programación es lo primero —las selecciones responden a una inteligencia curatorial real, no a una lógica comercial— e incluye mesas redondas, coloquios con cineastas y actos comunitarios junto a las proyecciones. OutFest opera en la tradición de los festivales de cine queer como espacios de construcción comunitaria: el público de cada proyección es tan importante como la película, y los encuentros y conexiones que facilita una semana de cine compartido forman parte del propósito del festival. Las proyecciones tienen lugar en el Philadelphia Film Centre y en salas asociadas del Gayborhood; los abonos y entradas sueltas se compran en línea.
