What a fantastic experience! From the moment we stepped inside, we were embraced by a warm welcome. The homey atmosphere makes you feel incredibly welcome right away. The dishes are truly a feast on your plate. They clearly work with crisp, seasonal vegetables and pure flavors. You can taste that everything has been cooked with so much love. With an ideal spot to sit, our evening was complete. Highly recommended! We will be back Greet! 😘
Discovered a wonderful little restaurant in Turnhout. Warm welcome, seasonal menu, and à la carte dishes. Pure flavors. Lady Chef Greet! An added bonus: a cozy south-facing outdoor terrace!
A very pleasant place to stay. Personal service and a beautiful setting.
Excellent. That's about it. One waitress was barely visible, as she disappeared immediately after putting down the bottle of water (which wasn't poured, and this also applies to the wine) and didn't reappear for another half hour. The food was excellent, but the sauce was far too sweet, which detracted from the duck breast. Now, here's the thing: we decided to go for a three-course meal with cheese instead of dessert, which would have cost €60 per person. We asked if we could swap the dish to share with the starter, and that was no problem. We discussed and carefully selected the wine with the chef, as she was a knowledgeable expert. When I saw the bill, I was quite surprised. The wine price was much higher than discussed because it was supposed to be from a different menu, while the wine we had chosen was from this one. To our great surprise, the menu was also much more expensive because we had swapped a dish. Usually, you tell your guests you can swap, but that comes at a higher price. Nothing of the sort. At more expensive restaurants, I sat there for an incredibly long time—almost 3 hours and 30 minutes—for a simple three-course meal. All in all, it was fine, but with a slightly unpleasant aftertaste. The atmosphere was bland and the service was poor. I wouldn't go back.
A cozy and warm stay, the perfect base for exploring Turnhout. The breakfast was perhaps our biggest surprise. Besides the generous selection (and portions), the super friendly welcome made our day almost perfect. The recommendation for a good running route was also very welcome!
