Brno Pride

Brno Pride is the organisation and annual event that brings Brno's LGBTQ+ community into the public space each June — a Pride march and festival that has been growing in scale and confidence since its establishment as a regular annual event. The event takes place in the city centre and draws a crowd that is predominantly local, student-aged, and politically engaged, reflecting the character of a university city where the LGBTQ+ community is embedded in broader progressive social networks rather than operating as a purely subcultural entity. The march route passes through the central Zelný trh (Cabbage Market) and the surrounding streets, using Brno's Baroque and Functionalist city centre as its setting. Following Czech marriage equality from 2025, Brno Pride carries a celebratory dimension alongside its continued advocacy function — a year-round organisation between events that coordinates with city authorities, provides community services, and contributes to the national LGBTQ+ rights movement.
