Young director Kris (Hannah Einbinder) is tasked with reviving the defunct horror series “Kemp Miasma” for a new generation of viewers. She seeks inspiration at the location of the original summer camp. There, in seclusion, lives Billy Presley (Gillian Anderson), the acting star of the original series. The professional fascination and creative obsession of both women gradually grow into electrifying attraction and an intense relationship. As the boundaries between reality, film, and dreams blur, a dormant evil awakens at the bottom of the lake. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, where it was awarded the Queer Palm.
