The Supreme Art of Improvisation | Tallinn Fringe Festival 2026

Friday, 21 August 2026 · 17:00 – 18:00 fringe.ee, Tallinn, Estonia

About the event

Every day, you face situations you haven’t prepared for. An improviser has trained for exactly that. What happens inside their mind is normally invisible: the split-second choices, the impulses, the moments of doubt. This show brings it all into the open. No long explanations: each mechanism is named, then demonstrated on stage. The audience is invited to test one exercise from their seats – to see whether the mechanism works for them too. Caspar Schjelbred reveals the secrets of improvisation as he creates characters and scenes from seemingly nothing. Funny, surprising, and more familiar than you’d expect. No improv experience required. Caspar’s on the spot, not you. Venue: Kanuti Gildi Saal – Püha Vaimu Saal Dates & times: Friday 21.08 – 17:00 and Saturday 22.08 – 17:00 Duration: 50 min Tickets: 15€ online / 20€ at the door Caspar Schjelbred is a Danish performer and teacher who spent over twenty years in the Parisian improvisation scene before relocating to Copenhagen. He has taught and performed across four continents, and was described by Festival Impro en Seine (Paris) as "one of the leading figures in the art of improvisation.
