Montpellier Pride — Marche des Fiertés
About This Event
Montpellier's Marche des Fiertés is run by the association Fierté Montpellier Pride and has taken place since the 1990s. The city also has a place in French LGBTQ+ history: France's first same-sex wedding was held at Montpellier town hall in May 2013.
Pride here is a two-day weekend in mid-to-late June. On Friday there are small 'apéros solidaires' and talks with local associations. On Saturday an associations' village sets up on the Promenade du Peyrou, followed in the afternoon by a parade through the centre with floats, DJs and performers. In 2025 there was also a free closing concert.
The 2025 march was on 14 June. In 2026 the weekend ran on 19 and 20 June, and the march set off from the Peyrou on Saturday 20 June; the University of Montpellier was a partner. We couldn't find a police or organiser crowd count for either year, and local listings give edition numbers that don't match each other. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked.
