Set 1: Astrocombo – Laura Robles & Daniel Schröteler
Astrocombo is a project by Laura Robles that originated in 2002. From the beginning, the idea was to develop ten compositions only about 60% and consciously leave room for the invited musicians to contribute their own lines, rhythms, breaks, harmonies, and musical ideas. Each lineup was planned for a maximum of two years to observe how the same compositions change and develop over time through different musical personalities.
Over more than two decades, musicians from many countries have participated in Astrocombo. The project has thus become a place of encounter, exchange, and joint musical development.
In its current form, Astrocombo presents itself as a duo with drummer Daniel Schröteler. The focus is on a strongly rhythmic approach, where the dialogue between the two musicians forms the basis of the music. Even if guest musicians are occasionally invited for individual concerts, the artistic idea is fundamentally designed as a duo.
Laura Robles and Daniel Schröteler have known each other since 2010. Together they first played in the project Morf, later in Lauer Large (2012), Astrocombo Berlin (2014), and Perfektomat (2022).
