Comic Reading & Discussion: "Ella. Having Nothing, Changing Everything
About the event
Comic Reading: "Ella. Having Nothing, Changing Everything"
Michael Weber and Gabriele Rollnik present the book.
This graphic novel provides insight into the life of the narrator, Ella Rollnik, who was part of the Movement 2 June in the 70s of the last century, an armed group in West Germany.
Ella has a long political history before and after. She went to prison, broke out, went back to prison, and was released in 1992 after serving her sentence to the last day. After that, another life began, establishing a children's house, graduating in sociology, completing training as a child and adolescent psychotherapist, and years of work in family support at a large organization in Hamburg. The work provides deep insight into the turbulent sixties of the last century, into the militant seventies, and finally into the conditions of imprisonment for political prisoners in West Germany and their struggles.
Michael Weber is an actor and author. His novel "Martha. Ein Leben auf St. Pauli" was published in 2014. He has also published children's books "Die Wolke Wolfgang" (2009) and "Das vierte Tier" (2022), as well as plays and essays.
