The criminalization of abortion in Germany not only causes major problems in medical practice but also follows patriarchal patterns and is an entry point for right-wing ideologies. In her book "Das Patriarchat im Uterus" (The Patriarchy in the Uterus), Dr. med. Alicia Baier @baieralicia, gynecologist and co-founder of Doctors for Choice Germany, explains with great empathy and expertise why this is a story of power and disempowerment. And she makes it clear what needs to change in society, medicine, and politics so that people capable of bearing children can decide for themselves about their bodies.
