About the event
The Youngest Daughter - Theater Play based on the Novel by Fatima Daas
"Speechlessness did not fall from the sky. It is not a punishment from God and not fate. Behind it lies violence and system." (Şeyda Kurt) — Who are we between our cultures, our identities? In what we and others expect of us? In "The Youngest Daughter," Fatima Daas takes us into her world between cultures. She lets us share the experiences she has as a queer, Muslim woman of Algerian origin in a "white" country. How she comes to terms with herself, with the reconciliation of her religion and sexuality. How she finds her very own identity. Fatima's story is brought to the stage by the ensemble and connected. The result is a complex picture of identity that tells not just one, but as many stories as possible. A production directed by Len Ghandour with a BIPoC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) team and ensemble.
