Early 1960s USA. There is a fierce competition between America and the Soviet Union for the first moon landing. NASA is under great pressure. Three African-American women, Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughn, and Mary Jackson, work as mathematicians for a division of the space agency. In times of legal "racial segregation" and as women, their working conditions are considerably worse than those of their white colleagues. Nevertheless, Katherine Johnson manages to be accepted into the elite team of the Space Task Group. The outrage is great: a Black woman is supposed to be equal to the white NASA employees?

"Hidden Figures" tells a true story and gives the three mathematicians, who are still almost unknown today, their rightful place in the history of NASA spaceflight.
