Picture a Scientist
"There's a rulebook that was written by men. The men know it, they know all the plays. I didn't have that rulebook," describes biologist Nancy Hopkins her path into science. "Picture a Scientist" accompanies her, chemist Raychelle Burks, and geologist Jane Willenbring on their academic journeys as women in research and teaching.

From the beginning, they experience discrimination and fight for recognition, respect, and equality. However, the documentary also tells of strength, solidarity, and courageous female scientists who fight against injustice and initiate global change. It also makes clear how valuable their work is – and how science can be improved through structural changes.
