Queerlit Writing Workshop with Jutta Reichelt
About the event
Queerlit Writing Workshop with Jutta Reichelt
On March 29 | June 7 | August 23 | October 25, 2026
Join the queer writing workshop!
Far more than many realize, "invisible" normative ideas often limit us. This applies to the "right way to live" (heteronormativity) as well as the "right way to write."
The four open dates for "Queer Writing: Against the Norm!" (March 29, June 7, 2026, August 23, 2026, and October 25, 2026, each from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM) are an invitation to question and subvert these norms and conventions through writing, thereby getting to know writing as a self-empowering and resistant form of expression. There is the possibility to write about a queer alphabet ("Queer from A-Z") or to pursue other (even your own!) impulses through writing. Alongside and after writing, there will be opportunities for discussion and reading aloud, for questions and support. Additionally, there is the opportunity to draw inspiration from the Weserburg itself – from the works in the collection exhibition "As We Are" to Murat Önens "Moving Pile under the Blue Sky" (2022) to Zoe Leonard's queer political manifesto: "I want a president" (1992).
The four open workshop dates are led by the queer Bremen author Jutta Reichelt (www.juttareichelt.com) and are aimed at all queer individuals, regardless of origin or writing experience. Everyone who enjoys writing and group exchange is welcome!
