About the event

How to Research Correctly Online in 2026?
Verification of Images and Videos

As part of the 4-part OSINT seminar series 2026 Deep Dive Research
Dear colleagues, dear journalists, dear research enthusiasts,

the internet is full. Full of information, half-truths, and fakes. At the same time, research has never been as powerful as it is today. But only if you know where to start.

That's why the Bremer Presse-Club is starting the year with a new seminar series on online research (OSINT). For everyone who doesn't just want to scroll, but wants to understand. For everyone who wants to research social media, images, people, or companies systematically, cleanly, and journalistically.

In four compact in-person seminars, we will address the central questions of modern research:

How do you observe narratives on social media without getting lost?
How do you find reliable information about people?
How do you verify images and videos, especially in the age of AI?
And what can be found out about companies from public sources?

The series is deliberately structured so that beginners and advanced participants alike will benefit.

The seminar series will be led by Alice Echtermann, investigative journalist, former head of the CORRECTIV fact-checking team, and currently working for NDR, among others. Her focus: disinformation, verification, and OSINT research in everyday life.

Four seminars, bookable individually: Fridays, 10 AM–1 PM on February 13 / May 29 / September 21 and November 13.
