15 Proofs of Love

A lesbian couple has given birth to a baby, making the biological mother automatically a parent; her partner, however, must first adopt the child and needs 15 certificates from close relatives attesting to her suitability as a loving parent. However, this leads her into situations that deeply unsettle her. The film is set in the spring of 2014 in Paris; the so-called Taubira law, which allows marriage for same-sex couples and the adoption of children, has since been reformed. The pointed love film does not dwell on the difficult constellation but unfolds an intimate, thoughtful portrait of two women in love trying to cope with the challenges of parenthood.
