Queer Perspectives on Advance Care Directives, Wills & Funerals

Sunday, 16 August 2026 · 15:00 – 17:00 queerkastle.de, Karlsruhe, Germany

About the event

Who can decide for me if I can no longer do it myself? How do I legally secure my partner, chosen family, and my wishes? The "Queer Aging" working group invites you on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 3 to 5 PM for an event on advance care directives, wills, and funerals at queerKAstle. The standard legal model does not always fit the personal reality of life for queer people. The event will focus on how self-determination can be legally secured – through advance care directives, living wills, wills, and clear arrangements for farewell. Lawyer Cornelia Hübner will speak about legal precautions. Andreas Becker, founder and owner of the Regenbogen Funeral Home, will shed light on queer-sensitive funeral and farewell arrangements. All interested parties are invited. Do you need support to attend the event or would you like to become part of the working group? Write to us at: alter@queerkastle.de. Admission is free.
