The Karlsruhe Rheinhafen celebrates its 125th anniversary this year. That's reason enough for an autumn hike around the harbor area.
The hike first leads us into the Fritschlach nature reserve. Along the marginal lakes with their rich wetland vegetation, we go to the Altrheinbrücke and from there along the Altrhein to the Rheindamm. Past the Rheinhafen steam power plant, we then walk over the harbor lock gate, which protects the Rheinhafen from flooding. In the Burgau nature and landscape protection area, we continue along the Rheindamm, past the Tulla monument and Hofgut Maxau. Before the Rhine bridge, we turn right, past the Knielinger See. After the Naturfreundehaus Albhäusle, we reach the outskirts of Knielingen. From here, the path continues steadily along the Alb to Daxlanden, where we reach the starting point of the hike again. From there, we continue a bit further to the restaurant "Casa Rustika", where the final stop is planned.
Refreshments: Packed lunch. The final stop is planned at "Casa Rustika" in Daxlanden.
