Planning Meeting of the MSM Prevention Group of AIDS-Hilfe Stuttgart e.V.
About the event
MSM Prevention Group
Men who have sex with men (MSM) are the largest primary affected group by HIV/AIDS. The MSM prevention group of AIDS-Hilfe Stuttgart e.V. is responsible for HIV prevention work among MSM, among others.
Men who have sex with men (MSM) – i.e., gay and bisexual men – continue to be the most affected by HIV/AIDS in Germany and account for the largest proportion of newly diagnosed individuals with the HI virus. Therefore, it is sensible to provide special information/prevention services for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. One of these services, part of the target group-specific prevention work for MSM, is the MSM prevention group of AIDS-Hilfe Stuttgart e.V., which provides information at locations and events where men who have sex with men prefer to meet.
Within the framework of the Gentle Man campaign (www.gentle-man.eu) by the Baden-Württemberg AIDS-Hilfen and the “ICH WEISS WAS ICH TU” campaign (www.iwwit.de) by Deutsche Aidshilfe e.V., MSM in and around Stuttgart are reached through targeted prevention approaches by the MSM prevention group of AIDS-Hilfe Stuttgart e.V.
Members of the MSM prevention group visit relevant parties, other events such as CSDs, and bars/venues of the “Gay Scene.” There, information materials on HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections, as well as condoms and other giveaways, are made available/distributed.
