We felt very comfortable here. The hotel is very centrally located in the city and the main train station is just a stone's throw away.

The hotel is located in the former Ibis building. Don't confuse it with the "B&B City-Süd," which is very close by. Check-in & Technology: An interesting system – there are no keys or cards, but rather a PIN code, which I received via SMS and email on the day of arrival. This worked flawlessly for me and is very convenient. Rooms & Location: The rooms are simply furnished, but appear reasonably recently renovated and are perfectly acceptable for this price range. The beds were comfortable, and it was pleasantly quiet. The location on the edge of the city center is ideal; you can reach the center in just a few minutes on foot. Criticisms: Unfortunately, there were a few drawbacks. The cleanliness in the bathroom wasn't optimal. Additionally, the television didn't work, and the shower took ages to get hot water. Conclusion: Solid for a short stay if you get a good room rate and can overlook minor technical and cleanliness issues. The location and the straightforward check-in are the biggest pluses.

Whenever I'm in Wuppertal, I check in here. The location is great, the staff are nice and friendly. The price is reasonable. The cleanliness of the rooms could sometimes be improved.

I have rarely had such a bad hotel experience. I booked a room including parking and breakfast from March 26th to 29th (Thursday to Sunday). The chaos started right at check-in. The room was extremely small and very dark. Truly uncomfortable. The next shock came when I went to park: Although I had booked with parking, I was told that there were no spaces available. Even when I pointed out my reservation, the employee insisted that nothing was available. The reservation was clearly pointless. Late on the night of March 28th, things became completely absurd: I returned to the hotel and couldn't get into the building. After calling the emergency service, I was told that I had only booked for two days and that my booking had already ended. I wasn't even allowed to enter my room to retrieve my belongings. What particularly annoys me is that they could have simply called me beforehand. A quick call like: "Hey, your booking has expired, but your belongings are still in the room." Then I could have sorted this out earlier and wouldn't have had to stand in front of a locked door in the middle of the night with my belongings still in the room and not even allowed to retrieve them. Then came the final straw: I was told I could get back into the room – but only if I paid an additional €62. Their generous "offer": €42. To be clear: I'm not bothered by the €42. I would have gladly paid that to simply retrieve my things. It's the principle that matters – that a hotel locks guests out at night, leaves their belongings in the room, and only then demands money to regain access. The room itself was also a disaster: - The TV practically didn't work (no Netflix, no YouTube, hardly any channels) - No wardrobe - No glasses - No refrigerator - No drinks - No snacks - Practically no amenities In the end, I was told that an intern had made the booking and that's why the mistake occurred. Quite frankly: That's not the guest's problem. If a hotel can't manage reservations properly, that's a massive organizational problem. And the best part: the emergency service even said that this kind of thing doesn't happen often there, so it seems like it only happens occasionally. If situations like this do occur, that speaks volumes. And they only let me into the room after I gave them a glowing 5-star rating across the board. In short: Bad room, no parking despite a reservation, chaotic booking system, locked out at night, and then they charged me to get my belongings. Never again.
